The model you have selected should have a self check feature: when turns off and the green
power light goes off:
ON THE FRONT OF THE SET PRESS AND HOLD BOTH MENU
AND INPUT together for at least 5 seconds and then release both buttons.
The
power light should blink a two digit error code: for example: 2 blinks,
a pause and 2 blinks--it will repeat the code about 10 times.
error codes for this set:
1, then 2 no error detected
2, then 1 X-ray protection
2, then 2 short protection
2, then 3 deflection circuit problem
2, then 4 vertical deflection problem
2, then 2 is the most common and easiest to fix.
Let me know what you find and if 2,2 I have detailed instructions for repairing that kind of trouble.

It does have the self check feature. Unplug the set for a few minutes and plug it back in.
Turn the set on and when the power light goes off press on the front of the TV the menu and Input buttons for 5 seconds or longer and release both.
This model has this self check--please try again. YOU HAVE TO PRESS BOTH BUTTONS ON THE FRONT OF THE TV--NOT THE REMOTE.

i tried pushing the two buttons for 5 seconds and then 10 seconds and 15 seconds and no light came on
yes, i'm pretty sure its a 52 inch screen, hd 1080
i open the back cardboard cover and notice the fuse was not working so i finally found the fuse and replaced itjust now. when i did the self check it only blinked 3 times,like ... . by the way ihave a little knowledge about tv cause i took electronics in high school in 1978-1980.
