Before the waste ink absorber becomes completely full, contact a Canon service representative. (You will need to replace a particular part of the printer.) Canon recommends that you call for service as soon as this error occurs. Once the waste ink absorber becomes completely full, printing cannot be performed until the Waste ink tank is replaced.
If the Support & Service tab is not selected click on it. Type replace ink in the Search box and click Search. The second result should be "How do I replace ink cartridges?" and the third result should be "How do I install ink cartridges?" Click on either one for an animated tutorial for replacement. There are no other parts.
Because they are cheap!
It doesn't make any difference your printer will still print. If you get a message saying out of ink, cancel it and continue printing, till you start seeing signs of no ink, then replace them.
Inkjet printers have a fibrous pad inside them that collects the waste
ink from cleaning the print head. Over time, this pad fills up with ink
and can no longer hold any more. When this occurs, the printer
indicates a "waste ink full" error.
Replacing
the waste ink absorption pads is something an authorized canon service
facility can take care of for you. Once they are replaced,
it'll be functional again.
Perhaps the chips in the cartridges have failed? In which case you may need to replace them with brand new cartridges. If that doesn't work you might need to send it for repair as the cartridges might have damaged your machine.
