Check both the POWER and the DATA cables between the motherboard and the HDD (Hard Disk Drive).
Remove them, and then re-insert them.
Try connecting the DATA cable to an alternate connector on the motherboard.
Remove the HDD, and connect it to another computer,
to see if the HDD can be detected on that computer.
If not, the HDD is the problem.
Check the BIOS configuration, does it detect the hard drive?
If it doesn't detect the hard drive then it is probably faulty and that is why the hard disk is not detected when the computer boots up.
The hard disk needs to be replaced and Windows needs to be installed on the new hard drive with the computer's device drivers and programs to get a working computer again.
