This might happens because the battery of the Handheld is not compatable with the Handheld. Kindly check the battery with the other Handheld if it is working fine then there might be an Hardware issue with your Handheld you need to walk into the service center.

There are two methods for unlocking Blackberry 8100 by MEP number and by IMEI#.
The simplest method for unlocking by IMEI#.
You can find your Blackberry 8100
IMEI number by follow one of these steps.

1.By Pressing *#06# into the phone.
2.On your Blackberry cell phone, go to Options-->Status.
3.put the battery out,there should be a white sticker it will show your Blackberry IMEI #.

All it does is show a battery with a red line through it?

The battery is drain.

DO NOT use the USB cable to charge your Blackberry.

When the PC/Laptop/Mac go to power saving/SLEEP mode it will cut off the charge to the Blackberry.

Use the official AC charger to charge the Blackberry.

Make sure the AC power is not switch off to the power pack at night.

clear sign of water damage under that button. 8100 is fairly easy to open with a T6 screw driver. then use alcohol to clean the area under that button. you need to also remove the while keypad membrane and clean under it as well
