Try to change the channel of the router, make sure there are no cordless phones or other w/l interferences around it. still if u have same issue, update the firmware by downloading latest file from belkin's website.

Sounds about right, that's why they are cheap. Try adding a belkin wireless range extender.

Check the wireless channel on the router.
Is it properly set ?
you can try changing the wireless channel on the router.
Or if that doesn't work then you can try to upgrade the firmware of the router.
for this you will need to open the set up interface of the router.

If your computer has 3 bars of signal, it's ok, don't mess with it.
If you want better reception, you can connect the Belkin wireless router near your notebook with a cable to the Linksys router.

Keep losing my wireless signal. always have to disconnect and reconnect. Happens on my computer and now also on my ipod. Only fix i found is reseting the router. I have a Belkin N1

Enable 802.11g only disabled DHCP use CH6 and WPA also set the Bandwidth to 20/40 MHz instead of just 20 MHz. Also upgrade firmware if you haven't done so.

D Link Wireless N router keeps having to be re-set

I've seen this on a router that was broadcasting very little signal. (in my case the next day it died. When the laptop is running move away from your router and try to determine where it loses signal strength. A router is good from the factory for about 200 feet with no obstructions. In most homes I give them 30 to 40 feet. Be aware that windows and glass doors nowdays use a metal mylar film between the glass to reduce infrared rays. If you lose the signal very soon then I'd say the router is dying.

Good Luck

Connecting to a lapto

Hi rgf47331,

When you move upstairs there is a solid wall in between that interfears with the signals. The only thing you can try is calling up belikin and asking them to check your settings on the router and see if changing the mode or channel helps. i wont recommend you do that on your own as you may end losing the connection altogether.

I hope this helped

Keep losing internet signal

Have you tried updating the firmware of your router? Updating the firmware of the router will fix that issue. Make sure after updating the router's firmware, hard reset the router. To hard reset it, Press the reset button on the back of the router for about 20 seconds, then unplug the power for 30 seconds then plug it back. Reconfigure the wireless settings of the router. Make sure to change the wireless channel of the router to channel 11 or 1 and not 6 to avoid interference.
