The clock program for Daylight savings Time is programmed for the old "third Sunday in October" changeover. The new changeover is the first Sunday in November. The program probably cannot be updated. If there is no button or setting to disable automatic change to Daylight Savings Time you can set the time manually and then change it manually to Daylight Savings on November 1 for the time to be correct.

The fact that I can't reset the DST to the new changeover is a total ripoff. I haven't even had this clock long enough to change the battery, and now I'm told I need to buy a new one.

Resetting time at time change in uk

In the UK the clocks go forward 1 hour at 1am on the last Sunday in March, and back 1 hour at 2am on the last Sunday in October. The period when the clocks are 1 hour ahead is called British Summer Time (BST). There's more daylight in the evenings and less in the mornings (sometimes called Daylight Saving Time).

How do I set my clock back an hour? It is the wrong time. My daughter set it ahead not realizing that it would change itself for daylight saving time.

Most digital clocks do not have the ability to move backwards. It is simply a matter of moving the clock hours forward 23 hours and you will be right back where you want to be. I hope this helps.

How do I set the time zone? It run out of battery so when I changed it, the time zone is pacific and I need to change it to mountain time.

To change the time zone, open the control compartment cover on the bottom of the clock. Locate the "Time Zone" switch and set it to the appropriate time zone for your area. Six time zones are programmed into your clock, "A" for Atlantic, "E" for Eastern, "C" for Central, "M" for Mountain, "P" for Pacific and "H" for Hawaiian. Once you've chosen the correct time zone for your Brookstone digital desk clock, you must select whether you want the clock to operate using the 12-hour or 24-hour format. The clock is set to the 12-hour format by default. If you'd like to change the setting to the 24-hour format, locate the "Time Format" switch on the bottom of the clock and flip it to "24-hour".
You can also decide whether to turn your clock's automatic Daylight Savings Time feature on or off. If you turn the feature on, your clock will automatically move forward by one hour at 2:00 a.m. on the first Sunday in March and fall back by one hour at 2:00 a.m. on the first Sunday in November. To choose your preference, locate the "DST" switch on the bottom of the clock and flip it to "Autoicon1.png" or "Off".

I have an antique clock that requires two places to wind it up. Since Daylight Savings Time went into effect, the clock has gone crazy, chiming the hour on the half hour and chiming three hours ahead. What...

With only limited information provided about your type of actual antique clock this symptom has to conclude that your clock is a non self correcting style.

Step one: Ensure clock is striking the hour. during the time of the hour strike quickly move the minute hand to the hour.

Step two: Move to the half hour allow to strike, move hand to hour allow to strike then move the hour hand to align with the correct count.

Step three: Stop the clock until the correct time has been achieved and start clock OR strike ever hour and half hour until clock is set to the correct time.

Hope this tip guides you to a solution for your clock.

Set clock

So just to sumarize--when you press the INFO Button and select ADJUST CLOCK, for this time of year --Winter--set Daylight Savings Time to OFF--that will immediatly move your clock back 1 hour. All that selection does is just toggle 1-hour ahead and back--but it doesn't automatically select when DST is in use. Then select AUTO ADJUST to ON and leave it there; this will make sure your clock is always locked to GPS and is always accurate.

Emerson smart set clocks

Sorry it took so long to give you a answer to your problem. I hope this information help you with your problem. Thank you for using FixYa and have a nice day! Dear Emerson SmartSet® Clock/Clock Radio Owner: Your Emerson SmartSet® Clock or Clock Radio includes Emerson?s patentedAuto Time Setting System that automatically sets the clock to the correct year, month, date, day and time, the first time that you plug it in, and after every power interruption. It also includes a built-in long life lithium battery that can maintain the time and alarm settings for up to 5 years, or even longer. As an added benefit we have programmed the internal SmartSet® computer to automatically adjust for Standard/ Daylight Saving Time changes through the year 2097. TheDaylight Saving Time information programmed into all SmartSet® models was based on the United States Uniform TimeAct of 1966, which formalized theDaylight Saving Time period that we observe today. CurrentlyDaylight Saving Time begins on the first Sunday in April and ends on the last Sunday in October. The new Energy Bill that was signed into law by President Bush in August 2005 includes a provision to extend Daylight Saving Time. Beginning in 2007 Daylight Saving Time will begin on the second Sunday in March and end on the first Sunday in November. Of course this is a situation that is beyond the control of Emerson, or any other company that produces devices with an automaticDaylight Saving Time adjustment feature. For example most computers, PDA?s, and many other devices also have automatic DST adjustments. Manufacturers of these devices must now begin to make adjustments to the automatic DST software to agree with the new DST timing for 2007. Beginning in 2007 the current automatic DST default settings in this device would no longer be correct. It would then be necessary for you to manually adjust the TIME ZONE setting 4 times each year as follows: 1.) On the second Sunday in March you would have to set your clock to the next lower number time zone. For example if you lived in the Eastern Time zone (Zone 02) you would then change your clock to Zone 1 to move it ahead by one hour. 2.) On the first Sunday in April, this clock will automatically advance by one hour. You must then set the clock back to your correct time zone. For example if you lived in the Eastern Time zone you would set your clock back to Zone 02. 3.) On the last Sunday in October you would again set your clock to the next lower numbered time zone. 4.) On the first Sunday in November you would again set your clock back to your correct time zone. Instructions for changing the Time Zone setting are found in the Owner?s Manual. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause due to circumstances that are beyond our control.
