2 possible solutions to this

1. Use the roll back function of your operating system to roll back to the last back up.

2. Insert your restore disk or Windows disk and do a format/clean install.

If you have a restore disc it will have prompts to "restore" your system and give you a warning about losing data-save off what you want BEFORE doing this restore

If you have standard windows disk you may want to use the format utility in windows first to clean the drive and do a fresh install.

Once installed don't forget to download updates and back up and then reload your other software.

have fun this will take several hours depeneding on the amount of stuff you have to reload and patch up.

Need disks for Compaq Presario CQ50-210Us I want to sell my computer and erase all of my info and get it back to when I first got it from the factory...

I'll ask you not to go for the Factory settings as it worths lots of time

There are two ways to format anything
1. Restore Factory Settings
2. Format on your own.

i Prefer format on your own is more better than factory settings..

All u gotcha do is get a bootable disk of either windows xp or windows vista

Insert the disk & start your laptop
select the boot device
follow the instructions
Once you reach the Drive Selection menu,
select single drive & select delete.
do this for all drives..
now u got a complete RAW hard drive
create a new partition by selecting New & Press enter
click next & its done

This is 200% working solution and its definately gonna work..
If u liked my post, please rate me i really need some good ratings...
Thanks !!!!

If a compaq presario cq50 says error 1005, what does that mean?

Error 1005 is an HP restore error which means you need to install from a standard DVD from HP. You can order this from various websites on the internet. They are about $30-$45 plus shipping.
