I just bought Fallout 3. After about 3 hours the picture started getting jerky with very very slow responce. Cleaned disk and restarted game. Same thing. HELP

it is a game glitch, best to avoid that area of the map, make sure you have gone to the website and downloaded the newest patch for the game

The second disk is basically just an expansion which is not needed for the original program to function and it isn't asked for. Insert the second disk and if the auto install doesn't initiate shortly after hit the windows icon in the bottom corner of the screen and select computer click on drive e which is the disk drive and look for an install or a program with .exe which is an execute command which initiates something normally a function of the program a screen should come up and there were 5 add ons to fallout3 make sure each box is checked and install. restart your pc and when you start fallout it should say something like it's reading downloadable content. When you load your current game you should get new sayings that you found a new radio signal etc.

do other games work? if not your magnet in your xbox console disk drive may be defective and i would suggest returning it to Microsoft to have them look at it. If other games do work your fallout 3 disk may be severely scratched or the magnetic strip on it may have gotten demagnetized or otherwise damaged and will most likely need to be replaced...sorry

Have you tried a different copy of the game. Like go to the movie store and rent one for test. If it still does it then it sounds like the the laser may be going out. I doubt that this would be the case. I feel that it is more the disk than the laser.

if its glitched you most likey wont be able to get it to work if not try renting fallout 3 and see if it works with the rented one otherwise youll have to delete youre saved game and start over i had to do that with nascar 09 because it glitched me and only when i started over did things work correctly

Fallout 3 freezing is an unfortunately common problem. A lot of people have reported that clearing the game cache on your 360 will fix it, so that's what I would suggest you try first.

To do this:

1. start up your 360, then take out the Fallout 3 game disc.
2. Hold down the A button on the Player 1 controller
3. Put Fallout 3 in your 360, then load the game

If this doesn't fix it, the next thing you could try is to clear the system cache. This will clear the entire cache for your 360, including the automatic updates (though downloaded content, save files, and user dats will be untouched).

To do this:

1. Navigate to System > Memory
2. Highlight the hard disk in the list and press Y
3. Press X, X, LB, RB, X, X

If done right, you should see a message asking, "perform system maintenance?" Proceed with this, and it will clear all the cache data out and revert Fallout 3 back to version 1.0 (it should ask you to update once you load the game)

Hope this helps - I've had my share of frustration with Fallout 3 glitches.

when the game fallout 3 has even the tinyest scratch in the right place some parts of the map freeze because the game data is unreadable.
try cleaning the disk
and if that dosnt work you might have to consider getting a new game.

Try saving your profile and game to a memory card, clean out your cache and put the game info back on your drive. Is your hard drive too full? Also have you ever had the console fixed? any reading errors on your disk?

I would download the game to the hard drive and it freezes a lot because its on open world rgp so it has to load a lot.. But if you download Fall Out 3 to your hard drive it will increase load times and reduce freezing.
