It is possible the memory stick is faulty. Are you using xp or vista? If so it should be recognised instantly. I bought one the same a couple of weeks ago, and it recognised it instantly, and I'm using xp.

Try it on another computer if possible, even where you purchased it. Just tell them you think it's faulty. If it works on that computer then you have a problem with either your usb ports or you have a virus.

If the Windows 98 computer does not have a USB port and you cannot copy the photos onto a floppy disk or burn the photos to a CD then the only option is the following.
Remove the hard disk and connect it to a USB hard drive adapter and then plug this into a USB port of a working computer. This computer will see this as an external storage device, you can then open the various folders and copy your photos to this computer or to a USB flash drive.

My flashvoyager memory stick is no longer recognized. I ejected the memory disk properly. Anyway I can recover any of my documents?

Files on a flash drive can be corrupted if it is not removed from the USB port properly.
Before removing the flash drive click on the Safely Remove Hardware icon and then click on the flash drive you want to remove and then remove the flash drive when the computer message says it is Safe to remove.
To restore the flash drive you may need to format the flash drive, but you will lose the data stored on the flash drive.
If you need the data on the flash drive these WEB sites may help: -

Cruzer Micro 8GB flash drive - no user manual

Plug it into the USB port. Press Windows-E to bring up the Explorer window, or start My Computer and open the removable drive.

You can then drag&drop files to/from the flash drive just as you do on the hard drive.

Cant get photo's to come up on computer/frozen usb

hi there...it's indicate there is a vrus in your flash drive.. the virus is hiding and manipulate your file so you can't the file when connected with your computer.
if you have recovery program that already install at your computer you can backup the file that you need after you format the flash drive. but if you don't have program don't format the flash drive.
maybe you can visit a nearst software store and asking recovery program (ex: office recovery) buy it, install to your computer and you can formatted the flash drive back up your photo using media heal for removeable drive...good luck..
