HI ,I have just managed to remove hinges from a smeg a1.1 range. to get hinge out you have tohook up a small holding catch on the bottom bar and thenforce open the hinge, the topbar thencatches on the small catch which then holds the complete hinge open .The whole assembly can then be pulled out. The holding catch is only about 1" long but is easily flicked up with a screw driver Paul 07776 438 408

SUK81MFX5 oven light stays on permantly

Can be the micro switch. With mine, the oven door was put back incorrectly and part of the hinge pushed the metal lever that activates the switch upward, and jammed it there. You need to get a bit of wire and hook it down again so that it covers the switch.

We replaced the blown oven light with a like for like lamp but now it won't go out ... any ideas how we can fix it?

Just had the same thing after cleaning the oven. Mostlikely, the upper hinge on the left side of the oven door is out of alignment and not hitting the switch. Take the door off and gently bend the upper arm of the hinge inward and it should hit the switch. Otherwise, take of the left side panel (really easy, 6 screws) and you can see for yourself how the upper arm of the hinge hits/ should hit the swithch.

I have a Smeg A1-1 Cooker. The main oven door does not shut properley - it hangs open a bit and so lets out lots of heat?

you have to replace the door hinge's an easy fix but you have to strip the doors apart so a good time to clean.

Replaced hinge on smeg double oven but now oven doesn't heat

I have the SMEG F170-5 and had this problem after cleaning and replacing the door. It wouldn't heat unless I banged it shut. This action made the internal switch trigger, so I had to remove the oven (4 screws, slide out) and remove the right side panel (4 screws). The switch is actuated by the right hinge strut and it must have become bent slightly. I bent it a bit towards the door so that it would just a little bit more likely to make the switch trigger with the door closed and it now works fine.

Smeg se375mfx5 / stainless steel

i suspect you took the door off without locking the hinges
you will have to put the hinges in the lock position before putting back.
lay door on a blanket with hinges upwards. force the hinges back and bring the locking arm up to lock the hinges.
this requires considerable strength

Smeg Double Oven SD08

this can be hard to do as you should have locked the hinges with the door fully opened before taking it off. the hard part now is (with the door off) you have to push the spring loaded hinges down and lock them with small hook located on each hinge once locked the door will go back on the oven. you then open the door fully and unlock the hinges, good luck
