What would cause my aspire 5630 to shut down sporadically?

Shut down sporadically, caused by rising temperatures on the processor (processor overheat). Processor overheat, caused by damage to the processor fan. Processor fan function to reduce the processor temperature.

Possibilities and solutions
1. The possibility of sluggish processor fan. Processor fan spins, with a low speed, so it can not reduce the processor temperature.
Solution: clean the processor fan with a vacuum cleaner, or replace the processor fan.
2. The possibility of fan processor die.
Solution: replace the processor fan.

The characteristics of damage to the processor fan
After the laptop is turned off (more than 1 hour), the laptop can turn on and survive + - 30 minutes. In the period of + - 30 minutes, the laptop died suddenly, because the processor temperature exceeds safe limits (shut down temperature).

How to check
Laptop is turned off (more than 1 hour), then turn on. Download and install software to check the processor temperature. Ex. Real Temp 3.60. See the change in temperature. If the temperature continues to rise, it can certainly cause damage to the processor fan.
- Normal temperature, when first turned on + - 38oC
- Normal temperature, after turn on for hours 40oC - 45oC
- Temperature overheat processor, when first turned on 60oC - 65oC

My reciever went to protect mode after my speaker wires touched. I removed all cables and power for an hour but stays in protect mode. I also changed 2 15 amp fuses inside but nothing unless I take fuses...

Yes, you can do this easily.
Perform the following steps
(1)Plug your amp to AC outlet.
(2)Switch it on.
(3)observe time taken for switching off.
(4)immediate to shut down over current protect(5)3 seconds to shut down DC protect.
If over-current protect do the
following steps
(O)unplug the amp.
(1)download NR806 service manual.
(2)open the amp metal cover.
(3)measure 7 large white resistors resistance loacated next to power transistors mounted on a large heat sink with black probe touching the middle pin and red probe to first/left or third/right pin.
(4)If this 3 Pins large white colour 0.22ohm x 2 resistor is open with infinity ohms ,
(5)replace it and jot down this channel for example left surround faulty. Usually only 1 channel went faulty.
(6)the two large power transistors next to this white resistor 0.22 ohms x2 should also be replaced.
(7)plug the amp
(8)switch it on
(9)if ok, troubleshooting get done
(10)if not ok
(11)replace ALL the components of this power amp channel.
(12)pre-amp section no need to check.

Re:"shutdown after video comes up the green power light stays on but the set will not shut down while changing channels."

Hi.

I do not think this has anything to do with logic circuits and video processing. When you stay on one channel the horizontal and vertical alignment circuit works more than if you change channels all the time.
This is just a guess, but have a look at convergence ICs. when you keep changing channels the power amp ICs (or transistors) go on and off, if one of them is defective it will overheat and shut down.
Other possibility is an internal tuner failure. Also test using a DVS or VCR.

Loss Of Sond When PS3 Gets Warm

probably the PS3 is overused, that's why it's warm. Shut it off when gets warm, or the least, after 4 - 5 hours of game play. That should help cool down the machines !
