How do I " snap off" the cover of my Honeywell Thermostat to see if I need to replace the battery? The digital numbers don't show anymore and I am getting cold! I don't want to force the cover off and potentially break the plastic.

There is a seam around the edge of the Thermostat , a small screwdriver or butter knife should do the trick , if not then its mounted to a plate on the wall that has 4 corners basically...Gently squeeze the bottom and pull the bottom out , they are pretty sturdy and you shouldn't have a problem,...the wall plate may flex a little while doing this

My honeywell thermosta beats 3 times every 30 secondst what woul be the cause

likely the thermostat batteries need to be replaced. Honeywell typically uses 2 AA batteries. Try gently pulling the bottom of the thermostat away from the wall. Once you disengage it from the wall plate, turn it over and look for the battery access panel. Replace with batteries as specified on the cover panel. don't remove the old batteries until you have new ones to install.

The digits are not showing and I have changed the batteries

Remove the cover to ensure the batteries were installed correctly. If they were, make sure none of the thermostat pins are bent a little cause mis- alignment with the pin-holes in the subbase. When you determine all is good, reinstall the stat to the base and make sure it is snapped securely in place.

Thermostat

Add a comment and describe brand, type and model of product. And what this product does. Is this a thermostat?
Also say if this is new installation or older installation
If you have Honeywell thermostat, then model number and AA battery are located on back of device. Replace battery.
Web search your model number and include .pdf in search parameter to obtain product manual, Use Ctrl+f to word-search manual for troubleshoot section. And view manual for illustrations showing location of battery.

MESSAGE ON THERMOSTAT SAYS BATTERY LOW

The cover on your thermostat should snap off pretty easily by pulling gently on lower right corner.Remember to not force it,if it does not open you can try one of the other corners. Under the cover there will be either abattery comparment or if it's 9 volt just two wire connector.Replace battery with same size type number and put cover back on.The battery is normally used to keep digital controls working, clock setback times etc. Hope this helps. Thanks

I have a Honeywell Chronotherm III Thermostat and in instead of showing the temparature in the display it shows -AC. I've replaced the batteries, and tryied adjusting Temp up and down for cooling and...

It would appear to me that you have lost the 24 volt power supply to the thermostat. In referencing the manuals for this thermostat, available @ www.honeywell.com, I've found that when the thermostat is not connected to the wall plate (plate mounted on the wall, that the thermostat either snaps or screws into), it will display the -AC. This being said, either the thermostat is loose on the wall currently, or your 24 volt transformer has died. Hope this helps.
