How to restore after pc recovery

I recomend printing this before moving your computer into safe mode.

--""Before you complete the process""

Click START

Click MY Computer

Double click the main hard drive (C:)

Click DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS

--mouse over all the user in this folder, the one that shows empty, and once clicked on does not give you premission to open is the folder you want to use when completing the process. This should be the user (user name) you had before the restore, is may have a .PC(with numbers behind it)

--write down and remember this folder name

1. Shut down the computer.

2. Turn the power on, and when the blue HP or Compaq screen appears, press F8 to display the Windows Advanced Options Menu .

3.Use the arrow keys to move up to Safe Mode and press Enter .

4.Press Enter on Microsoft Windows Whistler Personal or Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition .

5.Click Administrator and, enter your password (if necessary) or press Enter .

6.A window will appear to prompt for confirmation to keep operating in Safe Mode .

7.Click Yes .

8.Click Start and My Computer . Then, double-click the main hard drive ( C: ) and Documents and Settings .

9.Right-click the folder name of the user account and click Properties . (This is the folder you found and wrote down before starting this process)

10.Click Security .

11.Click Advanced . On the Owner tab,(third tab over) click the checkbox to select the Replace owner on subcontainers and objects option.

12. Click Apply .

13.Click Yes to the security message.

14.Click OK .

15.Click OK again.(you should start to see the files being transferred that your trying to access)

--Restart your computer in normal operation.

--Login to your user name

--make a new folder on your desktop and name it "BINGO", open that folder and create a folder named "FOUND IT"

click START

click MY COMPUTER

Double click the main hard drive (C:)

click DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS

--from here go to any user that does not contain adminstrator, or all users in the file name

(if you don't find the folder your looking for exit out of that user and choose another until you find the Folder)

--once you open each user

click DESKTOP

--look through the desktop folder, your looking for the folder BINGO open that and you should see the folder FOUND IT, this is the user that you want to copy all your lost files from the old user to.

--Wirte down this user name

Exit back to the DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS folder

--- at this point you should see all the users folders again, however when you click on the user folder you used the process on (the first folder you have written down) that folder will now open.

--From here you need to move your files back from (the first folder you have written down) to your currently operating user name (the second folder you have wirtten down)

--you should see all of your desktop, my music, my pics, my movies, (in the first folder you have written down) however until you move these files from the old user to your current user the computer will not always find them in your basic progams(ie.--windows movie maker, media player, ext.)

--with some of the folders it may be easier to move them first to a desktop folder and then reorganise them from there.

This should work you will get your lost docs. back however you may still need to reinstall some progams that you lost. Moving your files back to your new user can be another interesting issue, however you should for now have all your lost info recovered. Hi, I did a factory reset on my Samsung Galaxy S7 and lost my photos. Is there a way I can recover that data without rooting (jail breaking) my phone. I would like to return it to Verizon.

Option 1: Recover Android Data from Google

If you have set up Google account on your Android and enabled synchronization for all data, after factory reset, you can set up your Google account again on the phone. An option during the set up process will allow you to restore all the synced data.

Option 2: Restore Android Data from Backup

Many Android phones are endowed with local back up app or function. If you have backed up data regularly, then, after factory reset, just go to "Settings" > "Back up & restore", and select the latest backup file to restore data from backup.

Method 2: Android Data Recovery after Factory Reset without Backup Unfortunately, you might performed factory reset accidentally without backup, or the backup file lost or failed to be recognized by your phone, or some data couldn't be backed up, etc. If you come across any one of these situations, a professional data recovery software, Gihosoft Android Recovery Free, will do you a favor. With it, you can not only recover photos after factory reset on Android devices, but also other erased data. Moreover, it supports Samsung Galaxy S8/S8 +/S7/S7 Edge/S6/S6 Edge/Note 5/J7/J5, HTC 10/A9/M9, LG V20/V10/G6/G5, Sony, Motorola, Google, Huawei, ZTE, OnePlus, etc.

Reset to factory settings

Restoring the original factory image erases ALL existing data. This includes files, folders, programs, drivers, E-mails, photos. Before performing a PC Restore, back up all personal files. If you do not back up your personal files, the data will be lost.

You must press <F8> before the Windows logo appears on the screen. If you press <F8> after the Windows logo appears on the screen, the Advanced Boot Options menu will not appear on the screen. If you do not see the Advanced Boot Options menu, restart the computer, and then repeat this step until you see the menu on the screen.

3 Press the <Down Arrow> on the keyboard to select Repair Your Computer on the Advanced Boot Options menu, and then press <Enter>.
4 Specify the language settings that you want, and then click Next.
5 Log in as a user who has administrative credentials, and then click OK.
6 Click Dell Factory Image Restore.
7 In the Dell Factory Image Restore window, click Next.
8 Click to select the Yes, reformat hard drive and restore system software to factory condition check box.
9 Click Next.
The computer is restored to the default factory configuration.
10 When the restore operation is completed, click Finish to restart the computer.
The software is now installed as it was when the computer was first received.

Pc backup

It won't erase the operating system. It will just restore to the state when you first received your computer. if you are planning to do a factory restore, then make sure that you back up all your important files like images, videos, doc, etc.

You can save them in an external storage device like USB flash drive or USB hard drive.

After doing the factory restoration, all software problems will be fixed except the drivers which are going outdated. Outdated drivers cause a lot of issues in your computer. To keep them updated, install RadarSync so that your computer will have automatic driver updater.

I hope this helps!

If you have any questions, please shoot me a message and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

Thank you,

David

How to reset to factory setting on a compar laptop

First of all why would you want to do that? It loses all your data, docs, music, pics, videos and programs since the time you brought it from the store. If you're cleaning it to give to someone else, why not create another user account with their name with administrative rights, then restart and log on using the name you assigned for them. Then go back into the user accounts, click on your user account that has everything you've done as far as docs, music, pics, videos, etc. and click on Delete Account. When prompted about the files associated with the account select the option to delete them also.

But if you must get back to factory settings you will need to either have a disc that has the original image on it, or somewhere on your hard drive there will be another partition (Recovery Partition) that you can use to restore. Normally when you boot your machine you can hit a F1 thru F12 Function key that will get you into the recovery process. On some computers you can get into the recovery process from windows by clicking Start/Programs and look for anything that references recovery.

Itunes messed up my external hardrive

I doubt that iTunes really moved/reorganized files on your computer.

iTunest may have created its own "Table Of Contents", presenting a "view" of all your files.

Open "My Computer" and open your external hard-drive.
The files should be in "your" order.

Open "My Documents". Open "My Music".
The files should be in "your" order.

If iTunes really did "reorganize" your files, there's no way to "go back", because "Windows System Restore" does not automatically created time-stamped backups of your 'My Documents' folder (nor of any external disk-drive -- where would it put that much data???).

Trying to restore back to factory what can i

When you purchased the computer, you should have received a set of "System Restore" CD-ROMs. Use them.

If you have lost them, telephone HP/COMPAQ, and order a replacement set of "System Restore" CD-ROMs. The cost could be $20 for the set, and $20 for courier-shipping. When the disks arrive, use them.

P.S. Backup all your music/files/bookmarks/contacts before doing the "factory" reset.

I want to restore my Acer Aspire M1100 desktop computer back to factory settings. I have the disks from Acer, one is a System Disk and one is a Recovery Disk. Is there any way to restore/reinstall Vista...

Hello,

If you used the restore disk on your computer it will erase all files, and all your programs. the restore Factory settings means "ALL" settings the time you created the CD for the restore.

If you have an individual Vista Installer CD with the Serial you can use it and use restore option.

Thank you for using Fixya
Hope this helps.
