if this doesnt work email me and ill give you the relay diagram to connect a relay inline to activate video but im pretty sure it will ...
take the parking brake wire should be pink or some funky color and hook it up to a +12 power source. that way there is no need to use the e brake or anything for it to work
But as a word of caution all this is illegal in most states due to people not keeping their eyes on the road. ive read of people getting tickets for having disabled this security feature on their stereos. some insurance companys will not cover you if there's an accident you are involved in and you by-passed the safety feature. so before you do it, be sure to read your local laws and check with your insurance agent before doing it. you will not be happy finding things out the hard way.
plow boy442- I'm guessing you want your dvd to work while your driving. The unit has to be hooked to up to the e brake ,if you know which wire it is ground it out the unit will think your in park. Let me know , I can help you with this. cooltek Mar,3/08
You first have to figure out which one of these wires goes to ground potential when the brake is engaged. Get a digital multimeter set it to read resistance (turn the dial to the omega symbol)and then connect one end to ground of the car try the outer ring of the 12 cigarette lighter and the other using the tip to pierce the insulation of one of the wires, then press the parking brake. The meter with the brake not pressed should have ---- when the break is pressed the meter should read 0000 or some value less then 1.000 ohm.
The wire that goes to ground when the brake is pressed is the parking break wire and attach your DVD player brake wire to that. My money is on the solid green wire.
It may need to see a Positive....not a ground (the brake wire rests at ground and goes positive when the pedal is pressed). but to answer your question, the brake wire for your car is Light Green and is at the brake switch above the pedal.
