i would suggest to go to the toshiba website or the maker of the drive and search for the updates from there if nothing is found
download radarsync free versioon and run the free scan and upon the results of the scan you will see the device that you are needing the update for now just select details now look above this and you will see history and it will show you the current version available
now just select the operating system that you are using and select download or install update it may ask you if you want to create a restore point this is up to you next after this is done than there will be a setup program that is showing or a link to it go to it and select the setup and it wil install from there , ok?
not too hard seems like a lot of things to do but is not really too hard

Each brand and model of drive is different and only the manufacturer can implement firmware changes. The word FIRMWARE indicates that the programming of the component concerned is FIXED once programmed. It follows that firmware changes can only occur with the installation of a new component that contains different programmed instructions.
1. Turn on the power of the printer. Check that the printer is online.
2. Run the file setup.exe in the FirmUpdate folder in the CD-ROM. [GARO Firmware Update Tool] will be installed.
3. Run [GARO Firmware Update Tool] from Programs in the Start menu.
4. By following the instructions, update the firmware version.

2. Select the OS89 folder in the FirmUpdate folder in the CD-ROM, and run [GARO FirmUpdate]. [GARO Firmware Update Tool] will be installed.
