My Kenmore refrigerator model # 253.7419240p the freezer works perfect but the fridge part is very warm i had milk in it over night and it spoiled... what can i do to fix this i can not go without a fridge for i have kids.

Am surprised your refrigerator is 'blowing hot and cold thru the same mouth!. Try turning the power off and keep the doors be open for 12 hrs. Wipe off water under the fridge and turn on power.Good luck.

Check under the fridge to assure the coils are clean, if not vacuum and clean with a brush accordingly. While you're down there, make sure the condenser fan motor is turning. Check inside the freezer compartment to make sure the evaperator fan is running.

There are a lot of possibilitys. You'll have to use the process of elimination.

But it could be the thermostat (make sure your setting is midway) The milk spoiling indicates it is too warm so bacteria is breeding

Get a refrigerator / freezer stand alone thermostat (about $5) That will give you accurate readings. The fridge shoud be between 35 and 40 F and the freezer 0 plus or minus 3 when set correctly

It could be your condensor fan is clogged or just that your coils need cleaning (underneath or behind) Use a vacuum with the brush end or chisel point. Dust can cut you efficiency by 20 or 30% by itself.

Assuming this is frost free model the defrost timer may be acting up in the freezer.

Forgive me for not knowing where the coils are and if it is frost free but I can't find a manual for this particular model. However the principles apply in any case.

first check the fan...make sure it is running.

next defrost the freezer unplug and open the doors untill all the frost is gone about 24hrs at room temp..

plug it back in and see it it will work better ..if it does you have a defrost problem... let me know

hi. thanks for the question. look at the freezer, is there frost build up on the freezer wall . is the fan running in the freezer. also pull fridge away from the wall ,clean all coils thanks the appliance doc
