I have a vornado heater that needs to be serviced/repaired. Where can I take it/send it? (I live in Washington, DC.)

There are a couple of videos that might help, but usually, it is just a matter of undoing every screw that you can find. The videos show the switch just levers out. It is held by plastic clips. To split the case, you just need a long Philips screwdriver. 4 screws hold it.

It is an easy job that can be done in 30 minutes or so. At Home Depot, you can buy wire with the plug attached or you can buy wire and a plug separately. I can tell you where places will fix it in Toronto, Canada, but do you live in Toronto?

This link will take you to someone near you, or you can just drop into a local vacuum seller and repairer. That was where I went for something or other. I just said to the guy, "can you put a new lead on this"? He looked at it and said "sure it will be ready in 2 days".

From what you have said, I am guessing that you shorted out the little controller chip(s) on the circuit board. Some of the Vornado heaters are serviceable by the company but you would have to check your model number. They have a live chat that can tell you if you go to Vornado.com and click on support you will see it.

They even pay for shipping costs as long as the unit is still under warranty. Just give the rep the serial number on the bottom of your product. The number is 1-800-234-0604. Call 1-800-234-0604 - This is Vornado's consumer service line. This manufacturer is well known for great customer service, and they should be able to tell you if something is wrong with the unit. If so, and if the heater is under warranty, they will fix it or replace it for free. You won't even have to pay shipping to send the unit in.

go to radio they have many diffrent rocker switches if you cant find it there then call me 985 210 7291 i will get you one cheep ok jason

if it is a rocker type switch replace the swich

IMPORTAINT make shure switch it is replaced with is rated at 15Amps
