KITCHEN AID MIXER WILL NOT WORK

My wife and I have a Kitchen aid mixer that has been in storage for about a year and a half. When I took it out, the lock mechanism was stuck and would not lock the mixer head down. After playing with it, started to move...which mean I could also move the power lever on the other side....but it does not work...HELP

If you have had the brushes out (under the big screws on each side) verify the cut corner of the brushes are oriented properly. Look inside the hole with a flash light and you will see where the cut corner needs to be.

Thank you for telling us to look at the holes with a flash light. I kept trying to reposition them but thought they needed to be placed in the same way - I was wrong. I kept reading about placing the brushes in the same way they came out, but no one actually said how to find out what their position was if, like me you took them out and did not pay attention to their original orientation. The mixer now works.
thank you!

Burning smell when running

Your best option is to replace a 25 year old appliance. the cost to repair will far exceed the monetary value of mixer.

I have a Hobart kitchen aid mixer and I need a Manuel for it.

Hello, Fran -

The Whirlpool Corporation purchased the Hobart Kitchen Aid manufacturing unit in 1985.

I suggest you contact the Whirlpool Corp. directly and ask about the availability of a copy of a user manual for your model of Hobart mixers. Whirlpool probably took over the Hobart Kitchen Aid archival records. With luck the manual you need is still in the company archives.

This is the link to the Whirlpool Corp. Contact Us page:

Best wishes.

Kitchenaid 600 pro

After many years dealing with Kitchen Aid mixers I purchased a pro 600 for my wife as an early Xmas gift. After just a few usages it started making a clunking noise in the gear housing. I removed the housing and discovered the casting is of very poor tolerances and the main drive assembly was lifting from the torque of the motor and causing the gear assembly to lift out of the casting and skipping on the worm gear. I am sure it is going to happen to many more of these units as the casting area that holds the bearing in is to large obviously an overdue mold in the casting process. Time for a recall Kitchen Aid.

Kitchen aid stand mixer bought in US, moving to Europe, 220v 50hz

I can not respond to the warranty issues. My kitchen aid mixer is past warranty as well. I live in a country that uses 220V and my kitchen aid mixer is 110V. I have been using my kitchen aid mixer for almost 4 years with no problems at all.

The converter boxes are supposed to blow the fuse on the converter before it reaches your appliance and cause any problems.

If you purchase a 220V kitchen aid (although it would cost more money) it would probably have more power because of the higher voltage.

Hope this helps!

KitchenAid K45SS will not run

If you know what the brushes in the motor are then you should get some from kitchen aid or an appliance parts store. If you dont know what brushes for the motor are then find a local repair shop that will fix it for you. All the best.
