I have to constantly reboot the router to get on the net ...what is causing this ?

sometimes you have to reboot the router and the modem in different orders, try rebooting the modem first, then the router, while the router is unplugged.

You're better off buying a better, new router (one that includes a "Self Healing" feature that will basically reboot the router automatically on a set schedule). Also, try a different brand, Belkin is infamous for making routers that constantly drop connections.

firstly, connect your modem to the router and your pc to the router. Next, reboot your PC. try to access the net. If you now can, great. If not, you may need to switch on DHCP and NAT in your modem. DHCP means Dynamic Host Control Protocol and NAT means Network Address Translation. Both of these services are required to allow your PC to access the net through your router. I am assuming that you have a modem and a separate network switch. If you have a modem and the router is another modem with a network switch built in, then you cannot use them both at the same time. If the router has a modem built in, remove your old modem and set up the router according to its manual. Entering your ISP login details either through the routers setup software or through the routers own browser page. The manual for the router will tell you how to do this. If the router is a netwrok switch, then you will need to log into your modems browser page and turn on DHCP and NAT. Then save and reboot the modem and reboot your PC. Once everything has rebooted, go into your control panel, Network connections and check that a valid connection has been made. If yes, then access the net using your browser. We have satellite Internet. They say everything is OK, but every few days I have to unplug my modem from the satellite, reboot, and everything is OK again. So I put a timer on mine, and it reboots every morning about 3.

This is a problem with the firmware of your router , the firmware is the software that is inside the router so if its corrupted or have some problem you will have this issue like a constant reboot. so better update the firmware of then router...

One problem can be that the router and net is on while you turn on your computer, so turn off the internet and router. Another problem is that its an annoying virus that forces the computer to restart itself.
