I have a 2 yr old Kenmore french door fridge with bottom freezer 596.77532600. All lights on the display are blinking, the temperature for both the freezer and fridge are going up. No inputs on the control board work and I can not enter the programming or diagnostics mode on the control board. I replaced the display control circuit board but the same problem still exists.

Many thanks for the tip. There seems to be a variety of control boards, which board are you referring to? I replaced the dispenser control circuit board (the one in the door) and ended up with the exact same issue. The lights stop blinking when I unhook the cavity/mullion heater harness, but the fridge also stops working....... You help would be most appreciated since we can't get a service tech in for two weeks.
That fixed the problem! Many thanks, we really appreciate your help!
I have the exact same problem. Same refrigerator. model
596-77532600. French doors, Freezer on the bottom. The lights on the
front control panel flash/blink when the compressor is running and the
ice door keeps opening and closing. I disconnected the ice door
connection from the front panel board so that the door motor would not
wear out. The refrigerator is still cooling/freezing which is good.
Based on the solution described on this web site, I ordered a
replacement main board (located on the back of the refrigerator. Part
number "46 596 12920710". ($180.00 CDN) I noticed the sticker on the
existing main board says "Maytag". Maytag ICE2O refrigerators have the
exact same problem.
I bought the borad to $180 cdn. But when I looked at the manula I see that the code has to be programmed in first. before i put in the board tonite i will just try re-programming it...I am in the technology business and i see more software fail than hardware...I am hoping Sears it taking advantage of that...and althoguh i paid...you won't have to when i post a programming solution.
