Whenever I put a DVD into the player, it loads for a minute, then reads "No Disc"
I bought this tv for a reason, to watch my movies and play my videogames, and it's not working!
Firstly check the region code matches with the dvd code.
Check your manual in the front will be a list of dvd`s the dvd can`t play.has the disc been finalised.
One thing could be ,has the dvd recorder been into a cold environment, or not been used for the first time.
Take the dvd recorder into a warm room connect to the mails and leave for 2 hours , if that was the problem it should work.
Dust , for this open the dvd tray and blow to remove dust in that area of the dvd recorder.

The READ head is dirty or damaged...very difficult to get to the back of TV to disassemble DVD player.. clean read (light diode) head with light cleaning fulid or don't take apart & use official cleaning DVD disc. Look on web site for CD\dvd cleaning disc.It looks like a CD but has 'fuzz' or a very thin " rug" on 'read' side of disc.
No,tv internal DVD player are not on sale by itself as a seperate unit, only can buy it from the tv corporations themselves and it not cheap and have to have experience to putting it in into the tv internal tv itself. The tv internal DVD player now, could be the laser eye data reader have problems reading mp3 and mp4 files on the DVD disc, which are video files. Now tries to play more than one DVD movies dic, tries like to play like 5 to 6 original DVD movies. One disc don't play tries another DVD disc.Tries this might forcing the laser eye reader to read DVD dics again and than might fix it to read video files again.Or just buy an external DVD player hook it up to the tv and play DVD disc on to the tv video modes.DVD players external devices are really cheap these day, like can buy new one for $40.
I have a Samsung BD-P1490. When I turn is on the display reads "Load." It never displays "No Disc", or trys to play a disc if one is present. I have never updated the firm ware. Any ideas?
This is a motor problem. Here is what to do to put it right.
Open the disc tray and switch off the power, then remove the lid off the player. Locate the disc motor and where the spindle goes through the motor put a little WD40 or light oil (but not too much) or it will get messy.
Turn the disc motor a few times yourself and let the lubricant soak in. Leave it for about 30 minutes then try it again - and it should work.
This works in a number of cases, though I can't guarantee it will work for you. TRY IT! (:-)
try cleaning the lens first.then load a disk.try a different disc like VCD, CD etc.if only the DVD's are not read, the lens and the mainboard itself is faulty.but, if after cleaning it, it goes ok ,then its just dirty.
I bought a lg lst3510A at a yard sale for 20 bux. Lady said that it was new and had never been used. Plugged it in and got disc error when trying to play a dvd. I removed the cover and gently slid the lens pickup to the far back I DO MEAN GENTLY.... IT SEEMS LIKE IT HAD LOST ITS HOME POSITION. This worked for me. IF YOU TRY THIS MAKE SURE THAT YOU UNPLUG THE DVD PLAYER FIRST. Good luck and I hope this works for you.
that noise sounds like the focus is trying to see the disc as it has to focus to see or register there's a disc. Maybe the turntable slipped down a little or there's dirt or film on the lens. Good luck
There are several things you can do to try and solve your problem:
Make sure that the DVDs you try to play are encoded for the right region.
Make sure that the transportation lock (usually a plastic screw on the bottom of the unit), is not engaged.
Turn off player with disc inserted, unplug temporarily from wall outlet, plug back in and turn back on.
