I have a 3 bath rental. The last tenants were evicted for non-payment. There was some destruction and the toilets were nasty. Everything is clean now, but the toilets are slow to drain. I have plunged and hand augered. This works for 1, 2, or maybe 3 flushes and then they are slow to drain again. The vents to the roof are clear, I can pour a bucket of water down the toilets and they drain normally. Then a couple of flushes later they are slow again. I went under the house at the clean-out under the 1/2 bath toilet and the line is clear (augered and ran water hose...no obstruction). A couple of plumbers advised that there could be an obstruction such as a toy or plastic tampax encloser that the auger is going around and the toilet needs to be removed and cleaned out from the bottom. Please advise.d
I got rental units and no matter how much you tell them women to not flush tampons down the toilet they always do cause its not their house. Now their making them tampons super absorbent and they even got wings to really grip onto the sewer pipe.
You gonna have to do the nasty task of pulling up the toilet and looking down the sh.t hole for tampons or toys. Also look at the base of the toilet hole for them tampons cause they like to hide out there also.
While you got the toilet out, you might as well run you a snake down the sh.t hole and flush with a running garden hose.
With the toilet clean, try a large shop vac and see if that will unplug it , I had to do that when my son had flushed a toy and it was stuck. If that wont work you will have to pull the toilet.
