How do i use the buffet server. do you put water in the bottom

Yes just a little on the bottom so you don't burn anything you have in there.

Yes when I use mine I always put some water in the bottom of the roaster.

You would normally fill the removable roasting pan with 5 to 6 quarts of water ot 1/2 - 3.4 full. Place in the buffet server frame and the empty serving dishes and then preheat at 350 degrees until hot.

Place hot, cooked food in the serving dishes and reduce heat to 250 degree to keep food warm. Adjust the temperature and add more hot water as necessary.

If using the buffet server dishes yes, put 6 quarts of water in the removeable roaster pan. Below is the manual:

Yes, you need some kind of liquid.... a favorite is canned chicken broth, but just plain water will do also...do not use too much, as once the turkey starts to really cook it will produce it's own liquid...start with about an inch on the bottom...

Yes, to use the buffet server, the folks at Rival recommend 5-6 quarts hot water.

No water between the roaster and the cooking pan!

If using with the buffet server insert, put a couple inches in tn the cooking pan below the buffet pans.

Not just no but absolutely no. This is an oven, not a steam table, and water between the roaster and the roaster cook pan actually interferes with the heat transfer, as well as building dangerous steam.

No, do not put water near the electric element. Only inside the roasting pan.
