If the scratch is on the smaller side and not a deep gouge, you should be able to obtain touch-up paint for the appliance. These products are usually available at Sears appliance parts depots or more generically at home improvement stores.

1. If the scratch is on the side not being cut, check the infeed and outfeed tables for debris or defects.

2.. If the scratch is on the cut side of the board:
(a) check for problems with the rollers and any parts that hold the board down while being planed. (b) check for nicks in the blades. Shift the blades a little left and right so the nicks don't line up; or (c) hone and reset the blades.

Check the bottom of the Game Disc (the side without any labels or writing) for any dirt or damage (such as cracks, scratches, etc.).

If the games look significantly damaged, such as with scratches or cracks, it will need to be replaced.

If the game looks dirty (fingerprints, smudges), try cleaning the Game Discs. If the problem persists, the Game Discs will need to be replaced. or Click here to download repair guide

YOU HAVE PROBABLY GOT TIPPEX ON SCANNER. TRACE PAPER PATH TO SCANNER AND CLEAN IT WITH SOME METHS. DO NOT SCRATCH OR IT WILL SHOW FOREVER. SCANNER IS ALWAYS THE FIRST THING PAPER GOES INTO AFTER IT STARTS TO MOVE. IT LOOKS LIKE A LONG PIECE OF GLASS.

How do you mean broken, is it scratched, cracked, dented or literally broken?

If it's scratched you can get it repaired quite easily. Anything else and I'm afraid it is probably history. Check out below:

Check to see if there are any scratches on the discs. Scratches or marks on discs will render game discs unplayable or will freeze the game and will often show a message stating “Disc Read Error” or something to that effect. Best remedy for starters, is to clean the discs and make sure there are no scratches or marks left on the play-side of the discs.

Most Game Discs, DVD’s and CD’s can be fixed quite easily. Some home remedies may help with very light scratches on some of these discs but a professional disc repair service is usually required to repair any discs with more than very light marks or scratches. Discs can normally be repaired back to a virtually new condition.

A line there might not be the toner but the laser drum unit.

The operation below is dangerous - on warm printers you can badly burn yourself, and on all printers you risk severe damage to the drum, requiring replacement.

Opening the printer should show both the toner unit and the drum unit, with a usually green metallic drum cylinder. Taking the utmost care never to touch the drum with your fingers, extract the drum unit and check for anomalies on the RIGHT (where the left side of page goes) side:

- scratches: unfortunately, nothing to do. Drum replacement is your only option.
- black sooty lines: wipe them with a clean, dry, lint-free paper towel. Usually caused by:
- small specks of dirt lodged between the drum and the drum shell. You can remove them with a wooden toothpick. Never use anything sharp near the drum, it scratches very easily and scratches aren't repairable. Sometimes it is possible to raise slightly the shell so that a gap appears between shell and drum, and a folded dry lint-free napkin can be shuttled back and forth to clean the groove from dirt and ink clots.

Replace the drum and print two test pages. The first will usually be very dirty because of the toner loosened in the drum.

At large auto parts stores, there is a wax product, color match , that works well. Also a reputable body shop should be able to buff out the scratch.

Hello jbitwa, To determine if the scratches will have messed up you motherboard you have have to determine where the scratches are and what is scratched up. Now if you just scratched up the green motherboard (no circuits [lines cut open] and no chips [blocks]) you should be fine. But the only way to truly tell is if it will turn on when you plug everything back in. Now the processor board is small and efficient but there is still room on there for someone to scratch and still allow forgiveness.

Sorry to tell you, it is not a scratch, but a bad cable connection from the driver IC's, connecting up the plasma screen to the drive board, or the drive IC for that section of the screen is defective. It is not a repair a user can do as there are no user replaceable parts inside this set. Your going to have to call NEC or an experienced Plasma repair shop.
