There are 2 thermal fuses in the bottom of the unit, close to the heating element for the pot. Also, there is thermal compound between the plate that the pot sits on and the heating element. The compund on mine dried out in about a year's time, which caused overheating and the fuses to open.

Does anyone know the values of these fuses? I HATE to have bypassed them.

The correct fuses are 240 degrees C. Radio Shack in the past has sold some at 227 degrees, close enough.

How to bypass the timer so that turning power on from a smart plug will start the brew cycle?

Ahh, not a good idea. No brand or model given so this is just what I've come across at work.
* Most brewers use digital timers. Even the $10 units at Wal-mart are digital. The timer is on a circuit board so pulling or cutting a wire is out. Besides most unit I've come across don't use the "Delay" timer unless you set it. Most will turn on to brew after the delay time has been reached. There should be no reason to push the button to brew on a "Delay Brew" setting.
* Smart plug? Like an outlet with a timed operation period? (Boss must really want to cut electrical costs.)
* Brewing By-pass is usually seen on very large +5 gal brewers or "Super Automatic Espresso" machines. Both types are costly to run and uses expensive supplies. Hence the need for owners to limit their operational use. All do have by-pass codes or keys though If you don't have it then I guess the boss doesn't want anyone else to operate it.
* But if your a Rebel then some machines will let you change the clock (time) to fool it thinking it's opening time. (I've used this trick to overcome 'Maintenance Due' errors in order to just see if the machine can make coffee.)

How do I repair my Cuisinart coffee maker? it won't turn on.

My coffee maker did the same thing. I did some research on it, tried bypassing the fuses but could not get it to work. Ultimately, I went out and bought a new Cuisinart coffee maker. We had ours for quite a long time and it always worked great (other than the leaking water lines which I fixed).

Sorry I couldn't be more help!

Cuisinart dgb900bc. Set timer to brew at 5 45. Have for many years. Last two nights at 5 45 clock goes to 12 00 AM. Does not come on automatically. Turn on manually and brews coffee as great as usual....

I would assume that the chip/timer unit has failed in the unit. Not sure you want to try to disassemble the coffee maker to get at it. Have you tried reversing the a.m. to p.m. (thus the clock would read 5:45 p.m. at 5:45 a.m.) settings and seeing if the machine would brew the coffee normally? (although I seriously doubt this will work, but...)

I have Mr Coffee APX33; I do not know how to set the coffeemaker to turn on automatically. I do not have the manual. Hope you can help. Thanks! Larry

First you have to make sure to set the clock for the correct current time:
Press down and hold the SET button. Then alternately press the UP and DOWN buttons (indicated by arrows), until you reach the current time, then release the SET button. (there is a PM indicator on screen but not an AM indicator - if you don't see the PM you are at AM)

To set the time for the brew to start in the future:
Press and release the MODE button once and the Delay Brew Clock picture will start flashing on the screen.
While the Clock picture is flashing - hold down the SET button while you use the UP and DOWN arrow buttons to set the desired brew time (you can hold down an arrow button to get there faster). Release the SET button and now that brew time is programmed. (After a few seconds the clock picture will disappear but the future brew time is programmed.)

To activate the delayed brew:
Press and release the MODE button once. The Clock picture will be flashing and the time shown will be the time that you previously set for the future brew). While the Clock picture is flashing - press and release the BREW button. The Clock picture will remain on steady. The BREW light will not come on until the time in the future that you have programmed.

Pretty confusing - but it does work. Just remember that if you see the Clock picture on steady - the machine will come on at the time you have set in.
If you want to use the machine earlier - while the Clock picture is steady - you just press the BREW button and it will brew.
If the Clock picture is steady but you want to cancel the automatic future brew - just press the BREW button twice. (This turns it on and then off and cancels the future brew).

I can send a copy of the manual if you like. Lennyg678@aol

I have a cuisinart coffee maker. I can set the

Unplug the coffeemaker for 20 minutes or longer - not a second less - in order to fully reset it. Then, when you plug it back in, turn the function dial to Clock again. Press and hold the HR button for a few seconds, and then set the hours. It should work now unless it got zapped, as you said.

Good luck!

Radio not working

If you have recently changed the battery or lost power for any reason your radio may require an anti theft code, check your manual to see if this even applies to your vehicle. You may be able to find code behind the glove box in some cases. Or look up your vehicle online to see if any codes are posted. If the clock is working you have power.

Logic 3 i station clock dock display screen

I had this same problem and rang through to their technical support team. Here's what they advised me to do (and it worked a treat for me):

- Turn off the machine overnight
- Take the battery out of the remote control and replace it in the small compartment in the base of the unit itself
- Power it on and the battery will jump-start the display and all will be fine again

Hamilton Beach Brew Station

My brewStation 47214 stopped pumping water today, even though the warming element continued to get hot. A half dozen screws later I discovered a second heating element inside the coffee maker. The internal element is what heats the water and forces it into the basket. This element was burned out, religating my brewstation to the garbage. Probably last 3+ years.
