Hp LaserJet 1200 series
the first document printed, after computer is first turned on, prints perfectly. upon trying to print a second document, it either prints the beginning of the document, then stops printing, or it shows up in the pending documents as an error. the only way i've found to fix this is to unplug it and plug it back in. obviously this isn't the most practical solution. this is a recent problem that has never occured before.

I have an identical situation. I have isolated the source of the loud screech to the (laser scanner assembly) p/n RGO-1041. The unit is located underneath the top cover, where the printed paper rests after it is ejected. I had to remove the right and left side covers, then remove the three screws holding down the top cover. There are two screws up front and one to the rear, it then lifts straight up. The laser scanner has a ribbon cable, and four purple wires going to it, oh yeah there is a big yellow warning label, so you can't miss it. I hope this helps. Sorry, I accidentally posted this in problem section.

SOURCE: HP Laserjet 1200 prints pdf documents slow
pdf documents are historically slow, they usually depend on how they are created and how many attachments or upgrades have been added to the document. this accounts for some of the variations of speed the documents are printed.

You need to go ahead and simply refresh a service known as "Print Spooler"
here's how you do it..
for Windows XP:
>> click on start

You will see a list of service names alphabetically arranged on the right hand side..
From there look for the service name "print spooler"

wait for 10 secs
>> right click on it again
>> click on start..
>> restart the computer..
