Vertical lines on lcd how can i fix it works perfect with ext monitor and i did bios update and it help some?

You can try to hook up an external monitor. If the vertical linea are visible on the external display, try to update your video card driver. If it is not showing in the external monitor, You are having an LCD problem.

If you don't have any external monitor, go to BIOS setup and check if the lines are visible, if yes, you're having an LCD/screen problem. You need to replace either the LCD cable, LCD inverter or LCD itself.

It is required to check whether it is a Hardware issue or issue related with any Software. For this, login to BIOS by continuously tapping the F2 key on the startup, if you can view vertical lines in the BIOS, it will be a Hardware issue related to the LCD monitor, and it is required to service the Computer in any service center. If the vertical lines disappear in the BIOS mode, the issue is with any of the Softwares or drivers installed in the Computer.

When does it appear on windows or before

If in Windows then uninstall the drivers of Display Adapter

Steps :-

Right Click my computer -> Manage -> Device Manager -> Display -> Uninstall -> Restart the Computer

Check if u can see same lines in BIOS Mode

Restart Computer -> Keeping tapping F10 Key its a single Key on First Row of Kayboard

Check in that mode if u can see same lines over there contact View Sonic Hardware Problem

try to update BIOS and uninstlal reinstall video driver. connect external monitor to check if have same problem. perform Built in self test on LCD - to do it, make sure computer is off then press and hold "D" and press power button. if still have vertical lines on screen, need to replace LCD

Check whether blue lines are present in bios screen, if Present then Hardware issue

If Blue line not present in bios screen, Software issue = Restore system back to factory settings

Connect External Monitor, use Fn + F8 to extend display on external Monitor ,

if display is fine on Ext Monitor = Replace LCD Kit

if Blue lines are displayed, on Ext Monitor = Replace Motherboard

Have you tried plugging in an external monitor to see if the display is ok. I suspect you will find external display is perfect and only the LCD on the laptop is affected.

I have a laptop that the "tab" welds are not connecting properly on the lcd and 1/3 of the display is multiple lines or black. Pressing on the top of the lcd changes the colors on the display but does not fix the problem, I had to replace the lcd.

i have tried to fix these problem before but no good i did find a web site that will also stat that this can not be fixed but rather they will replace the lcd film at a not so bad price
