Problem with the dve player

There is a difference between a CD "music usually or data" and "DVD". Some players/computers only play CD's. Some are DVD/CD players/writers. Which is yours. If you have a CD player, it will never play a movie. Put in #1.a CD and try. If it works good. Then put in #2. a DVD it might not be a DVD player. Past that it would be a defective player. Get a lense cleaner disk at y computer/variety store". Insert it in your computer and run the program.lay a movie. If it is scratched or dirty. Clean and try again. No luck, You have a bad player of software issue. The Disk player can be slid out and replaced at any computer store. $59? Good Luck. John

some older models wont recognize burnt DVD's
maybe Netflix discs have a macro on that doesn't allow your player to play them.

format data coded not supported
convert it through a converter software . eg,XVID TO VOB.EXE or MPEG it will work

Please check weather the DVD which your inserted i supported by the player.?
If someother movies plays then the problem is with the DVD which your inserted.The DVD might have not burnt in correct formatt.

Check for cracks or scratches on the dvd disc?It a dvd movie disc,not a computer program dvd disc?Take the dvd disc,washes it with some dish washing soap.To clean all the grims and grease out of the dvd disc laser surface to the dvd player laser eye to read the dvd disc.

Depends, first I have to ask what types of disc's your trying. Are they CD-R's (burnt) movies, or all store bought ? I ask because usually if its not reading discs (an optics problem) then it would say no disc found or something to that effect. What type of DVD player is it ? From another country perhaps ? Region settings can come into effect, if the dvd's or the player is from another country. Post back with any answers to the above questions for further help.Thank you for choosing Fixya!

Simply install a DVD player separately or DVD Codec for Window's Media Player. The reason why Window's Media Player can not play the DVD movies is that it does not has a DVD codec to play it. The simplest solution to do it is to install a DVD Player program and Window's Media Player will start playing DVD movies.

It could be the codec u use to encode the movie,
secondly could be a firm ware problem of your dvd player.
Other than this I can't think of any other reason. or just may be the type of recoreder u use or the recoding programe. If u had check these, then get another player

PS. the player firmware is the main reason to me.

If you burnt a DVD + , try getting a DVD - and burn to that or vice versa. Some DVD players play both the DVD + and the DVD -. Other DVD players will only play one of the two types of discsl
I burn all mine to a DVD +.
