Roper LP Gas Range Model S8757X4 - Burners on top will not light have to do it manually. I can hear the electronic clicking sometimes and sometimes they will light on their own, but mostly light them manually.

  • ohriverb Oct 26, 2009

Tried cleaning - didn't work. I can see the spark on left burners but not the right side. The left burners will light once but will not light after that.

If you can her it clicking that is a good thing can you see the blue spark between the electrode and the burner? some times cleaning knocks these little electrodes out of line or plugs the tiny holes directly in line with the spark ( try a tooth pick to clean out the holes) Good Luck

some times you can hear it clicking and some times you can see the blue spark but only on one side I would suggest that the wireing going to the igniters on the right side has become compromized maybe just un hooked or loose and the igniter is grounding out underneath the cook top some where pull the burner elements out (usualy just a 1/4 turn to the left) and have look inside if its both elements then it's probably a the junction point for those two elements Good Luck

Changed maxitrol regulator to lp to much pressure

If you only changed the gas regulator for use with LP (the regulator located at the connection of the gas service) then you still need to change the orifices for all burners, top and oven. Of course I assume this model can be converted for use with LP. Some models cannot. A new range that can be converted for LP typically includes the needed LP orifices. A card with the LP orifices is typically located at the gas regulator.

Propane oven won't light

Can you post more details like: Does the oven ignitor come on (glow orange)? Can you hear the oven gas valve click open and/or smell gas? Do all the stovetop burners work fine? Have you checked your propane tank to be sure you are not out of gas?

The gas is connected on the rear side of the stove but the pilot light is not lit, nor will it light. trying to trouble shoot the problem before deciding to purchase a new oven/range. Also, I remember...

You may have a pilotless ignition.Check around door frames for model #plate.
Also , open broiler door ,turn on oven and look inside . If you see an orange glow appear after awhile, that is the electronic igniter and you have an electronic ignition(no pilot). In this case the top burners use a spark ignition system. If you don,t hear clicking when you turn on a burner your ignition module might be bad.
Easily fixed though.

Two of the burners on the left side doesn't light.

If you small gas, then there should be gas to burners, If you are hearing a clicking, but doesn't light, then your igniter may be corroded or faulty all to gether. You can get parts and manual at repairclinic.com

Conversion from electric to lp gas

Simple answer NO.

Unless Jenn-air has a conversion kit. (highly doubt this)
It would be a serious undertaking to switch out 2 burners for LP use.
Gas tubes, igniters, electronics, regulator, gas jets.
Not to mention the modifications changes needed to the stove top to make all this work. That gas regulator has to go somewhere and piping from tank/regulator/burners.

Not saying it can't be done mind you.
But think about it long and hard before committing to this job.
Small gas leak can become a huge headache later.

You have to light burners on stovetop with a match all the time.

The pilots for the range top are beneath the top of the range top. YOu will see them if they are there. YOu stove may use electronic ignition and you can hear the sparking when you turn the knob to the "light" position.

If it is electronic ignition, make sure the stove is plugged into an operating outlet

Top burners often wont light if oven is already lit

Hello and welcome,
If your range has electronic igniters, then you seem to have one or more bad igniters on top of the range if you have a pilot range then you have a gas restriction or clogged orifice tube.
Even if they make the click noise while trying to light they may not get hot enough to draw the gas on a constant speed!

This will need to be diagnosed hands on at your location.
But this is the fault!

Thank you for using fixya.

Ge spectra gas stove top not lighting

If your top burners are not lighting or will not work, it is possible that the burners have become dirty or wet. Please follow the troubleshooting directions below before calling service:
  1. Turn you burner to the Lite position:

If you hear clicking or sparking, go to Step 2.

If you do not, check your circuit breakers. If the circuit breaker is ok, we recommend that you schedule service by calling 1-800-432-2737 or schedule service online.

  2. Clean the burner and electrode:

First remove the burner grate, cap, and head. Use a needle or paper clip to poke through the holes on the burner head. Re-assemble and try the burner.

Remove the burner grate, cap, and head. Even if it looks clean, wipe the tip of the electrode with a clean, dry paper towel and PRESS IT DOWN. Re-assemble and try the burner, again.

Check to see if the burner works, If not, then go to Step 3.

  3. Re-assemble - Make sure that each burner top matches its burner bottom. The burner top will lay flat if put on correctly.

Check to see if the burner works, If not, then go to Step 4.

  4. The spark igniter is operating properly, but the burner is still not lighting. At this point, we would recommend that you schedule service by calling 1-800-432-2737 or schedule service online.

Kenmore Gas Range/Freestanding/ Electronic Ignition

I have an electronic ignition Kenmore Gas Range. The Model Number is 790.78573407.

Am getting the error code F93 in the oven control panel. The manual says the likely cause is "Maximum oven door lock time exceeded". When I plug the oven the "door lock light" flashes and then the "F93" error code flashes. Am not able to use the bake or broil.
