Use a desktop computer to copy the contents of the bundled printer CD-ROM to a thumb drive. If a second computer with a CD-ROM drive is not available, go to your printer manufacturer's website and download the appropriate drivers to your netbook's hard drive. Specific instructions may vary depending on your manufacturer, so read and follow instructions provided on the website. Insert the thumb drive into your netbook. If you downloaded the drivers instead, follow the manufacturer's instructions for installation. Open the file browser and click on the USB drive. Click on "Install" or "Setup." Follow the on-screen instructions for driver and software installation. Connect your printer to your netbook using a USB cord. Some software setups will automatically recognize the printer and launch a setup wizard. If a setup wizard does not start automatically, on your task bar choose "Start" and then "Printers and Faxes." In the window that opens, double click on "Add Printer." Click "Next" in the printer wizard window. A new frame appears asking you for the type of printer that you would like to initialize. Choose "Local Printer" and click next if your printer is connect through the USB port. Choose "Network Printer" if you want to use a printer installed on your network. Click "Next." Click the name of the printer you are using in the list. Click "OK" Choose "Yes" when prompted to choose whether or not you want to use the printer as your default printer. Click "Next." Click "Finish." Hope it helps. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Find-and-install-printer-drivers
You can install it by downloading the printer software/driver that you need , just click HERE and select the operating system of your computer and proceed with the download.
The easiest way is to download the printer software from the manufacturers web site. The same software that comes in the printer box on CD is available from their website.
Here's what to do:
1. Go to google.com 2. Search for your printer manufacturers website "i.e. Cannon, or Epson" 3. Once at their site search for "drivers or downloads" 4. It will now prompt you for the specific model number of your printer (this can be found on the printer itself) 5. Follow the instructions on their site and your done!
Go to Epsons website and download the software and/or drivers needed to your netbook, then install them. When finished, connect the printer and follow the instructions on the screen to configure it for first usage and your ready to go!
There are two methods to install the printer driver. 1. Purchase or borrow an USB external CD/DVD drive connect it to the mini laptop's USB port and install the software from this drive. 2. Use a different computer and copy the contents of the CD to an USB memory stick and then plug it into the mini laptop's USB port and install the software from this USB memory stick.

Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off.
I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with
the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the
printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud
If your cd/dvd player doesnt work right after installing a Epson cx4800 model printer on your computer, specifically with the Vista OS, its due to reported issues with the cx4800 printer drivers conflicting with drivers tied to your cd player..supposedly.
Best advice is to uninstall the cx4800 software/drivers and see if your cd/dvd player works right. once confirmed it does, then try to get the windows os to automatically detect and install the cx4800 printer without using the printer drivers that came with the printer.
If after uninstall the printer drivers and your cd/dvd player still doesnt work properly....need likely to reinstall the cd/dvd drivers ..but that can be another ugly problem as for finding the right ones to reinstall.
