I came into work today and the copier said funcional problem call for service. this machine has been working fine how can I clear that off of it? It also is showing a sign SC320 and a phone number to call. I dont want to pay 400.00 for someone to come out and reset this thing, been there and done that many times.

No way to clear this code without going into the service mode and resetting it. This would most likely not work anyway as this code means you have a failure in the fusing unit. The fusing unit is the part that gets hot and "fuses" the toner onto the paper just before it exits the machine. This unit is either not getting hot or if it is the machine is not "seeing" it. This is usually caused by thermistor failure. The thermistor is the part that reads the fuser temperature. A tech needs to repair the fusing unit then go into the service mode to clear the SC542.

Hello sir; To read the service code , just press "8" and "clear/stop"in differen time, normally you can reset by turn machine off and on.

By default, after 74000 of PM counter, it will appear.
U can clear it if the machine is working fine.

Reset PM counter
08-252, set the value to '0'

To disable the PM counter,
08-212, set the value to '0'

Hello sir; Follow the steps to reset;
1, press "clear mode", "107", then press and hold "clear/stop" key untill display change.
2, enter 5810, then press "execute" on screen, then press "close".
3, turn power off then back on, it will go back to normal.

there are several steps before reaching the laser i-- clear dc con then take machine off remove plug from outlet then power up machine 2--clean the itb assembly thoroughly 3---change the transfer belt 4 --- change the itb assy. if nothing works then we will go to the laser

try to clear in service mode touch Additional funcion key then 2 8 at same time then additional func key again in that order screen should change to service mode then touch copier then function then clear then err then ok then turn off machine using main switch if it wont clear you have a bad fuser

this machine worked fine until today.there is plenty of ink in the cartridges,just replaced the black one a week ago ,worked fine till today when i tried to use it .p.c. works fine,im pi----.
