Gestetner DSm618d accidentally adjusted display too dark, now can't read it, so I can't control the machine, nor can I readjust ''contrast'' Vince

The main motor is faulty or the pcu gears are damaged which have stalled the main drive, check pcu cam gear for free movement if ok replace main motor

Right click the display go to properties and on the advance tab try reducing or advancing the refresh rate to see if there is a difference. If negative restore the rate to the original setting. Good Luck. Ed Pinero

If the display is too light or too dark, you should adjust the contrast of the display.
Press either review button until NO CALL or the number of calls displays. Press and hold the READ button approximately 5 seconds until the display reads CONTRAST followed by a number. Release the READ button and use the review up and review down buttons to change the contrast number. When you are finished, press READ again.

hi if u cant find any bit of paper in paper path may be any path sensor out of order or may be dusty sensor just clean the all paper path sensors

u have to go sp mode and clear the memory. to enter sp mode press the yellow botton once and press 107 and hold down the the red botton after some seconds it will enter the sp mode move to 5 mode scroll to clear memory and press ok

the problem is the display unit itself or the cable that goes from the display to the electronic (Most likely the dispaly itself).
The display will need to be replaced. You can contact Miele directly at

You should be able to adjust LCD contrast when phone is idle, just use the up/down arrow button to adjust it (don't go off-hook). If you have background music set, the above procedure will adjust the music volume instead. You can turn Background music on and off by pressing <Feature>,2,6 when your phone is idle. Alternatively, you may press <Speaker> 6,0,2 and then use the UP/Down arrow key to adjust LCD contrast.
