Hi, I think it is a faulty lid switch latch assembly. I have only ever had this one time in all my services experience...but it fixed the "ol" code and incomplete cycles problem. If someone has had a different result fine, but it worked in my case. Hope that helps...better late than never. Good Luck :)

Most of your issues are with the clutch
this unit has had an issue with it since the very day theyu hit the market
the clutch is not allowing for the machine to spin back and forth without resistance thats why you get the uc code
the clutch sits at the bottom of the tub, and is wrapped by the belt
it can be replaced by a good handyman
the hard part is doing it with out rolling the tub over
the whole thing is held on by one 3/8 bolt in the middle
you can find your part readily availbable
at
www.appliancepartspros.com

just type in your model nuber and the search for the clutch

The TL neptune has a small shock absorber on the middle left hand corner behind the front panel. it uses a small wiring clip that could be loose, with a type of inertia switch. A common issue with this machine is underloading. The snubber and springs allow a fair amount of movement. Don't do a few simple items or mixed load in this machine. The unbalance switch has been known to cause UC codes due to corrosion. I suggest taking the switch out...it'll look like a black strut on the front left hand side of the tub. Unclip the wiring harness and look at it for corrosion. Loss of electrical contact will cause this issue. If you see corrosion, spray a very small amount of wd 40 or preferably electrical cleaner on it, clean the metal pins inside the best you can, then apply an electrical grease to keep moisture out. As to the ol code is the washer level? You may need to replace the door switch or at least clean it with electrical cleaner.

It can be the clutch but check the others things I listed before replacing the clutch again.

Hi,

I assume that you are getting only UC code right now.Simple procedure to start with, unplug the washer for few minutes and let the control board reset all the programming, then plug in after few minutes.

Run the machine. If you are again getting UC code, If you are not getting any other code then i would suspect the tub position sensor(mount at back left side of tub). This error can also indicate a failed or failing clutch mechanism.

The sensors could fail at any time. That's the only SOLUTION to fix this.

Let me know, if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

    Thanks for your response!!

oL flashes when the machine/motor control
detects a load size that exceeds the
washer's capacity OR basket can not
    disengage. This may signify:
    1. Load size exceeds washer capacity.
Remove excess laundry, then restart cycle.
    2. Mechanical friction on drive mechanism,
not allowing the basket to disengage.

As this error is there even, when the clothes are not there. It sounds to be like a defective drive mechanism. That's the only reason when you would get both the codes. It seems mechanical friction on the motor.

    Now,

You need to check, which part is causing this, There is a Diagnostic Test that would help. You could look at the same :-

Let me know, if needed further assistance.

    Hope i helped you.

    Thanks!!

No Comments. The solution i gave to you is what Maytag have suggested for this machine and as i said, it might be due to mechanical friction as it would not allow the basket to engage and would cause the issue.

    Thanks.

I have a Maytag Neptune TL washing machine, it runs almost all the way through they cycle but on the last spin cycle it stops and the digital display shows LO. Can you help me?

LO error code:

Locked: Lid has failed to unlock -

the machine has repeatedly tried to

unlock the lid. Push lid closed to

make sure nothing from the inside is

pressing against the lid, preventing

unlocking.

Is that the issue? Have the Lid locks failed to release and you can't open the Lid?

Or have the Lid Locks released so you can open the washer lid but the error code LO remains?

If you want to DIY I will help you.

Machine will not come on, the letter OP appears in the on window.

You have lost signaling from the Left Hand Lid lock.

The 1st easy test is with the lid open place a magnet over the Grey Bumper on the left side and see if the OP error code clears.

I can't find my post on this forum, nothing is indexed and the search function is terrible.

I don't want to put in a direct link to the washer repair forum of my choice so put in your browser this phrase; Sticky: Neptune TL Washer FAV6800AWW

Code OP means lid is open. If it really isn't, then the problem is with the switch that sense whether the lid is shut or not. Could be bad switch or bad connection.

The washer lid is open. The lid must be closed to start cycle. Close the lid and press Start/Pause.
