Loud noise coming from icemaker...noise decreases when i increase temp and goes away when icemaker shut off. I set the initial temp at 3 degrees, then let it make ice - after about 3 hours it sounded like a cross between a jet and a harley... really loud noise that could be heard throughout the house. Shut ice maker off (lifted the wire) noise went down and after about 10 minutes stopped entirely. Bumped up temp to 6 degrees and tried again...noise came back after about 30 - 40 minutes but was less. This refrig has already been in once for SY FE or SY EF error - which tech said was a lose connection - Frig is brand new.

The icemaker is pretty simple, there is a motor, a solenoid, and a couple of switches.

It sounds like the whole icemaker mechanism is jammed or has a broken gear, and the motor is trying it's darndest to turn the stuck mechanism (grinding it's gears in the process), or the gear has already gone, and what's left of the gear is dancing around in there.

My guess is either the $7 icemaker drive gear or the $94 icemaker assembly.

True GDM-10 started making loud noise AFTER door was slammed after getting something inside; checked inside fan was running slow. Noise sound like something stuck in motor.

without knowing age of unit, I suggest replacing the motor. Sounds like the armature is worn the bearings and is moving inside the windings of the motor. I would do that first before moving forward with any other repairs.

I have a KitchenAid Refrigerator Model Number: KBFC42FTS. Bottom drawer freezer over cools -10 degrees.

That's interesting, -10 or colder is too cold and something is defiantly going on. This unit is controlled by a mulitple control boards, temperture sensors and other components. Question, what is freezer temp set at? Try increasing it by 3-4 degrees and see if that changes anything. Beyond that, I'm going to change the temp sensor first before doing any of the control boards. #29 is the temp. sensor. Good Luck

High pitch noises.

It sounds like feedback hum. Most likely caused by the settings on your computer. Try adjusting all the sound settings. Especially record settings.

Go to control panel and select the sound option

There you will find microphone settings that are enabled, one of them is set to on and adjusts volume automatically as the noise increases, jsut disable that option

Oven cooks at 400 plus degrees when set at 350 degrees

If your problem is temperature do this;
Press "options" Then press "6". Then press "3" to increase or "6" to decrease temp.
Then press "start" to end the calibration.

If you recently used self-cleaning you could have a thermal overload fuse problem.

Loud air intake engine noise on startup

I would guess it is the electronic fan clutch. It will cause the fan to run too fast (very loud) and the light will come on sometimes.
