I just bought the new Whirlpool Duet Steam Dryer. It starts and then like 5 to 10 minutes into drying the machine starts beeping and adds time. It also seems to shut off randomly as I am running the dryer 3 times before they are dry. They are not big loads. At first I thought it was the door problem, but I don't know anymore. Thanks for any help!

I have the same dryer and was told that the dryers default time is adjusted because the dryer senses the load size and wetness of the clothes. It then adjusts the time setting to ensure the clothes dry.

Dryer won't start, push the start button it just beeps

It is possible you have a broken drum belt. You may need to call a qualified service man as changing a belt can be tricky.

Dryer displays F 70 code. How do I get it to stop?

Unplug the dryer for 30 minutes. Then reconnect the power cord to the outlet. This will reset the code temporarily. Unfortunately, the code means that the central control unit (clock) isn't communicating with the rest of the components correctly. You probably will need a new clock or dryer (depending on the warranty status). If the unit is under warranty, contact Whirlpool or the store where you bought the dryer (if it is brand new).
I wish that I had better news for you.

I have a Duet front loader and I've noticed that my towels get stiffer the more I wash them. I used to use liquid detergent and fabric softner, but the repair man suggested I use powder soap and...

No truth to powder being better .fabric softeners on the towels is fine it does help keep them soft they just don't absorb moisture as well.. I belive you biggest issue is over drying the towels, use a lower temp setting on dryer and do Not trust auto dry settings for towels, expermint with timed settings, if towels are not dry you can always add a few more minutes, but over temp and over dry will stiffen and age them prematurely

Whirlpool Duet Steam Dryer Beeps 3 Times But Does Not Start

Brand new unit - same problem. After an hour of investigating, I found the issue.
You don't actually have to SLAM the door. If you look closely, there are 3 separate pins that must latch. One is a simple push-button style which latches no problem.
The others are little prongs at the top and bottom of door. The bottom prong latches cleanly, but the top one will not latch because the door is a bit too flexible.
Close the door normally, then firmly press on the top edge of the door. You will hear the final latch grab, then you press and hold the start button. The dryer starts normally.
Yay!
