Red exclamation mark keeps flashing. No message on screen, just a bar going round and round the periphery of the screen. Printer will not work. The round green power button remains on, without flashing. The rectangular green print button is not illuminated. Every so often it seems to try to print but nothing happens. I changed the cartridges and it did print a test page without problem.

As keyree said, it means the message has not been sent. You should be able to tab the message and hit resend or retry. 10-06-2015 03:50 AM.

It's the blinking one! You should also get a message on the screen and the 'empty' cartridge should have a cross or exclamation mark on top of it.

The Exclamation mark is an Attention: error indicator. There is a problem that you need to fix. You need to fix the problem. Was there is any message on the LCD screen when you started having the error?

Press Cancel and try printing again since you apparently cleared the LCD message. The problem could be a paper jam, no paper in the paper tray (or the printer can't pick up the paper), an ink issue or something else.

Please add a comment with the error message for additional support. I need more information to tell you what steps are most likely to solve your problem.

That depends on which red light is flashing. If the battery light is flashing, that means the battery is exhausted. Fix it by charging the battery.
If the status light is flashing red, that means the paper is jammed. Fix this by opening the paper door and pulling out the media. Full instructions are on page 3 of the manual.
The battery light is the one marked with a battery. The status light is the one marked with an exclamation point inside a triangle.

you will have to reinstall your dell 1320c laser printer and/or its drivers

use the printer settings on pc to diagnose the problem through its menu possible paper jam or an ink that is done and requires replacement but do check if there is no paper jammed in the machine and that all the doors and covers are closed

I found this on another website and it worked for me. It apparently resets the printer. Hope it works for you:

1.) power on (error message)
2.) press the "Stop (triangle)" and the "Colour copy" button and hold them
3.) press the power button to power off, still hold 2.)
4.) press the power button to power on, still holding 2.)
5.) the LEDs start to flash, then they stop to flash and the red exclamation mark starts to flash. Now release 2.)

6.) the LED should say: "Init EEprom"
7.) now press and hold the power button until the printer powers off and powers on again.

You have to 'manually' prime the pump: When the red exclamation mark shows, press the water switch on the right side (the picture of the water drip), then open up the steam nozzle and let the machine pump hot water into a cup until the red light goes out.

THEN RIGHT CLICK WHICH PRINTER YOU ARE USING THEIR IT WILL SHOW USE PRINTER OF LINE CLICK THAT AND THE TICK MARK ON THAT WILL GO AWAY AND IT WILL BECOME ON LINE.AGAIN RIGHT CLICK ANYWHERE ON THE WHITE SCREEN 3-4 TIMES.IT IS DONE. WISH YOU GOOD LUCK.
