Me too! They ordered me a new milk pitcher from Italy. Didn't work. They told me to run it through some tests using water in pitcher. Didn't work. They then told me to send it in to a Delonghi repair shop. They just told me that it was all "clogged up" and also needed a new generator. The tow are linked together. We descaled fairly regularly. Total tab: $380! OUch! Have not told them to go ahead. seaching for cheaper solutions. Let me know if you hear of any. wosbrink@me.com.

Miele CVA 4066 stopped frothing milk

It sounds like the venturi tube is blocked. Have you ever removed the frothing unit and cleaned in manually? I have a model 4085 and I can reach under where the milk exit tube comes out, twist anti-clockwise (if you are looking up at it) and the whole assembly with the inlet and outlet tube comes out. These pieces can then be individually taken apart and rinsed thoroughly with warm water. If you put it back together (don't forget to twist the connector that locks it back in) and the milk still doesn't froth, take it out again and use a small needle to clear the top of the clear venturi tube which sucks air in to do the frothing. If it is really badly gunged up it might need to be replaced, but mine is 5 years old and still going with regular rinsing. My whole brew unit had to be replaced after 4 years at a cost of about GBP 200, but that's another story.

DeLonghi Perfecta ESAM5500 when trying to make a cappucino it wont **** up the milk any ideas thanks

Had this exact problem a few times on a cleaned well maintained milk jug top with an ESAM5500M. Delonghi 'repaired' it by sending a new milk jug frothing top.

It's caused by milk fat deposits, the frother part on the milk jug may look clean but deep inside it's not. I clean mine with pipe cleaners, detergent and hot water and still it wouldn't froth.

The problem re-occurs for me every 6 months or so. You could buy the milk fat remover solution to clean it. Personally I just boil the whole milk jug frother in detergent and the again in descaling solution, that's fixed this problem twice now, although I think it will eventually corrode the 'o' rings on the frother, still cheaper than buying a new frother part each time though.

If it still doesn't work after that, the only other reason for this problem I found mention of was caused by a broken rubber seal where the milk jug fits to the machine. It's most likely to be milk fat deposits inside the frother though.

Our PrimaDonna coffee machine doesnt appear to be takeing in any milk from the jug to make latte's or cappuciono's, is there any way of sorting this out ?

Most common cause of this problem is a blockage in the milk jug. First thing you should try is soaking the complete jug top in a quality milk line cleaner (available from specialist coffee machine retailers) for at least an hour and then rinse thoroughly. Then try running a fresh cleaning solution through the jug instaed of milk. Good luck and post again if this doesnt work.

Milk container doesn't heat milk..only the steam is released.

I was told this was a problem with the O rings on the machine (you need to keep these clean or replace them (if necessary) to keep the milk container working properly).

I did this and still had the same problem. Turns out the top on the milk container needed to be replaced. It's $20 from Delonghi but at the time of this writing is out of stock (I have waited three seeks so far and Delonghi is supposed to be escalating my request).

I finally got frustrated with the whole thing and completely disassembled the milk container top (there are a total of 5 screws and you need to remove the froth control slider to get to one of them) and gave everything a good cleaning. Pay attention to the small orifice on the inside of the chrome tube that the milk comes out of. Using a dental gum cleaning brush or similar sized brush and some hot soapy water should get the dried milk residue out. Inside the top is also a rubber piece that the froth regulator inserts into. Reomve this rubber piece and clean thoroughly. Make sure and clean all other areas inside the top with hot soapy water. Make sure to look the top over well as you disassemble to be sure note all component positions for reassembly. Make sure when reassembling that the cleaning button and its spring are reassembled correctly. The small red O ring on the end of the cleaning button's rod should be cleaned well and the small tube into which it inserts should be free of any milk residue. One last item to check is the rubber bushing that rubber milk uptake tube inserts into is clean and making a good seal. Note that this bushing should make a good seal on both sides (the side the rubber uptake insrts into and the side the upper side of the top inserts into. Make sure all parts are reassembled correctly. In general if you clean and rejuvinate all areas that need to make a tight seal you should get good results. I have no experience here but it would be my observation that even with a good thorough cleaning job the results may not last a real long time as it seems that parts in the top show wear after about a year and a half of daily use. In my oppinion the purchase of a new $20 top makes sense, but if you can get one or don't want to wait you can spend the 30 minutes to do the above cleaning. Because of apparent backorder issues at Delonghi this may also be a good idea to buy upfront. Make sure to include the 5 O rings in the order ($1 each) to avoid paying two shipping fees. I have found one of the O rings at Lowe but was unable to find a few of the sizes (smaller than Lowes sells).

Cappucinatore won't pull milk through the tube

Hi
There should be a small pin on the top of the Cappuccinator. When it starts, twist the pin slowly until the milk flows up the tube. Then leave it where it is and it will work all the time.

I have a Delonghi Magnifica Rialto EAM4500 coffee maker. Recently it has stopped frothing milk. Per delonghi I have replaced all of the gaskets that connect between the milk container and the unit. When we...

I purchased a unit second hand for my wife's birthday today. It's only 4 months old, got it home, tested it, same problem... No froth!

I've read all the posts here and all were very helpful troubleshooting guides however they did not solve the issue.

Understanding how the frothing mechanism functions is half the battle in figuring out the solution. It's a simple vacuum type system. No doubt you've read about checking the orings. This is definately the first thing to check however if this is not the reason then consider the following.

The larger of the white tubes that has the red and black oring inserts deep into its port on the tap. Why? It pushes steam past the milk pipe directly into the chrome frothing tube which causes a vacuum essentially drawing milk up it's hose creating the froth. What you can't see without further investigation is that on the underside of the tube centered between the red and black orings is a small hole. This hole is responsible for drawing the milk upwards. If this is blocked, and it probably is then no milk and no froth. Use a really small screwdriver to carefully clean the white tube both from the front and the little hole underneath.

So in conclusion. Any air leak between the red and black orings will prevent the vacuum required to draw milk up the tube and alternatively any blockage of the milk channel will also obviously prevent the flow into the frothing mechanism. Hope this helps.

Steamer is not getting hot enough.

Try using the milk clamp on the tube going into the milk.Tightening it will make your milk hotter.
Your steam wand however, is a different problem.
First, check in the programming that the steam temp. is 125 celcius.
If it is, and none of the tubes from the steam wand to the boiler valve are blocked, your boiler temp. sensor may be faulty, in which case, you will need to replace that.

Steamed milk is not coming out

Clean the steam wand, it unscrews and needs to be cleaned, also, descale the machine once the blocked tube is cleaned. When milk dries it is like glue and clogs the steam wand. so clean it daily after use.

Also, I think you meant to say, steam for milk frothing is not coming out. If you meant steamed milk is not coming out, it's not supposed to do that. Some Saeco's can add an attachment called a milk island but not the magic comfort plus.
