Hello, we havent used the plasma for over a year, the red light is on,when we switch tv on, green light comes on, picture flashes for a second, then it goes back to standby, please help
I have had this problem in some models of plasma sets before. In most cases the power supply and main drive boards had to be replaced. In a small number of cases the failure was the screen itself.
In all cases, the cost of the repair was expensive. For the screen failure, the set was scrapped.

Remove one at a time the Y sus and Y buffer cables that go to the power board and see if the set stays on then, you may have a distorted pic, replace the board that makes the set stay on...there are some transistors on the buffer board that give issues a lot and I'd guess that's where your issue is at
I am definitely a girl explaining this because I don't know the correct parts of the tv. Here goes. We had the same problem last year, called philips they advised I do a software update on the tv because that fixes everything....wrong. The light still flashed and no picture. I called them back and they said I had to find a philips tv repair to take it into....got lucky because there was one close by. Come to find out it was some board inside that cost $400 to repair. I thought cool it's cheaper than a new tv! Worked great until about 2 weeks ago the tv turns on and the light is green and picture pops up a minute later. Oh boy more problems! As I sit here right now my tv no longer has a picture. The green light is on but nothing. It's funny because we had it repaired this time last year. I'm fed up and buying a new tv!
Your power supply board is dead, u know basic electronics’ and soldering? Most of the times, the power supply board just have dead leakages gases capacitors. These capacitors always bulges up on it top,or puff up on it top.Replaced these gases leakages capacitors will get your TV power stable, and work again.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement. hope this helps...
