I cant record DVD's

When I try to record a DVD from another movie it gives me an error message and says this program is not allowed to be recorded. Is there anyway around this?

I have the same problem. Although, I want to know how to mod this cheap player to crack the copyright coding. I'm not doing anything illegal with the copies, I just don't want my original DVDs all scratched up.

I have the same recorder with the same problem. I want to make a copy of my DVDs and put the originals in a safe place. I am about to go on the road for a year, and I don't want to take my original movies. It only happens on certain DVD and VHS movies, others copy fine. If anyone knows how to crack this problem, please let me know.

Won't allow recording ESPN and other cable channels.

It sounds like the programs are copy protected. I've had the problem with an E 27 error, but I've had success with recording other programming.

Hi,
I would try to burn at a lower speed. If this doesn't work. Try to burn the cd but don't finalize it. If this goes through fine then try to finalize the cd.

DVD Menu selection not available from Setup Menu

I don't have movies from premium channels, but do have cable HD channels. When I got the message re not recording in +VR, I copied from DVR to HD in PhilipsDVD-R and then dubbed to DVD.
