RCA 2656 bookshelf music system cd door

Check the cd types that that system will play. Depending on the type of recorded material, some CDs won't play on certain systems.

There is a problem with the device itself...what I would recommend you to do is to return it from the store you purchase it...there isnt anything phisycally you can do about the problem you are having...it is the device itself that is defective.

the door could be stuck or the cd laser mech. is stuck or the power circut for the motor that opens the door or the motor has become weak or ect..... there are many posibilitys but you need to listen for the motor sound or a click when you hit the button , if you do hear it then its stuck or the motor is to weak and needs to be replaced , or the circut isn't giving enough power to the motor

Try this... unplug the unit and turn it upside down.  Have a small screwdriver ready.  No plug the unit in and try to turn the wheel in the large slot clockwize.  When you see the spring clip try to grab the white plastic stop and move it clockwize.  This should eventually open the door.  It did for me.

You might remove the case and remove the disks. Uplug first.

mine did the same...with mine it was because one of the cd's came out of the carriage inside the unit... i popped of the see-through top on the unit, put the cd's properly in the carriage and it opened right away... it may say "error" on the front screen

select another option such as "tuner", then go bak to CD

If it is only two months old, DO NOT take the unit apart! there should be at least a three month warranty on it, and if you mess with it, they(the repairer) will blame you. Call for an authorized dealer in the owners manual. Good Luck
