I have nikon cool pix L11.It is giving lens error signal and it cant close the lens.Is there any easy solution or do I have to go the technical service point?
My Colpix L6 does the same thing. I found it in the case with the lens extended, and it now is stuck in place. I receive lens error message, and it shuts down. It happened once before, but I turned off and on and it reset. Not this time. Also don't know what caused it to extend, as it was stored properly, and there was no chance that it got bumped or anything. My Colpix L6 does the same thing. Remove the battery, wait a couple of minutes, replace battery. (assuming the battery is fully charged. Check there is nothing jammed in the mech. if it still stays stuck.

Hi, When system control does not get lens initialize signal while extending it, then it try again by folding it and extending and still no required initialize signal then generate error and stop further functions.
Please remove battery and open camera and remove flexible wire of lens mechanism from connector, there would be lock that needs to release to remove flexible wire. Clean wire terminals with alcohol, let it dry and put back flexible wire in connector and lock it. Now put battery and power camera up, hopefully lens will work properly.

Hey meghanB, One thing you could try is placing the camera on a flat surface with the lens pointed upwards and press and hold the shutter button, while doing this turn the camera on. When you do this the camera should try to focus which sometimes will force the lens back on track. If this doesn't work you should have it looked at by an authorized service technician. You could bring it to a Geek Squad® precinct in a Best Buy™ store and they can send it out to be looked at. I hope this helps! Sincerely, Allan Go Ahead. Use Us.
