Odds are that the ignition switch or wires are giving you the grief.
Thee unit will probably be getting spark power through the starter solenoid (look for a wire there) but when the solenoid is not activated, there will be no ignition power.
Take your time and trace it down.
You'll get it.

Not normally, the board outputs to the fuel pump, or LP shut off solenoid. It doesn't know the difference.

Is it losing Battery power, or just not pumping? check connections, and pins on board connector. Failing that replace the board, if Battery voltage is been lost

Power to the motor switching off to ignition system check wording is correct.

i have a onan model5.5 HGJAB-1038C GENERATOR IT SHOWS CODE 14 IT WILL START FOR 15 SECONDS AND WILL STOP -- I HAVE REPLACED THE FILTER, NEW FUEL PUMP. NEW SPARK PLUGS- CLEANED CARB AND STILL NOTHING I AM IN MEXICO AND NO SERVICE PEOPLE I NEED A SERVICE MANUEL FOR THIS UNIT--THANKYOU PLEASE

Code 32 is a low cranking speed sense. You didn't mention a Spec # which would help. You say batteries are ok, but the generator is not getting enough cranking amps or voltage to maintain the control properly. Check, battery voltage, wiring, any in line isolation solenoids, check generator solenoid, also make sure there is no mechanical binding on the generator, a good way to do that is remove the spark plugs DISCONNECT THE BATTERY to prevent starting, underneath where the air intake is under the alternator is a plastic plug, remove that and you can put a socket I believe 3/4" up onto the alternator shaft and rotate the engine, if it tuns freely there is no binding, if you feel it is hard to move, check the drive train, belts, pulleys underneath (A lot of work, best to take to a dealer if it is mechanically bound)

Sound like a dead battery, or poor battery volatge getting to the unit. The clicking is fuel pump and or solenoid trying to pull in.

Go to the auto parts store and buy a "Battery Tender" solar powered, or get an electric trickle charger. Or install a battery disconnect for the period the unit is not in use; you can disconnect the battery.
