I have a goodmans Flat screen Tv which when turned on momentary shows the picture and than the screen goes black,I can still turn the sound up and down and change the outputs,but the screen remains black,no back light.
Any help would be appriciated

If it is a LCD TV, and there is a faint picture, it is probably the backlight or inverter board (probably the latter). This is a common problem (especially with PC monitors).
Do an internet search for your model and inverter, you may be able to replace it.
Make SURE you REMOVE the power lead before opening the set !!!!

I have a flat screen vizio. For awhile now the screen has been randomly going black while were watching tv. We would just turn it off and on again a few times and then it would be good to go. The other day it black and just stayed that way. The sound is still adjustable and if you get up really close to the Tv you can kind of see the picture back there.
i have the same problem kind of because when i switch mine (goodmans) it shows a pic for couple of secs then turns screen off but sound still works and i can change chanel ect but just sound chnages still black.... i phoned up currys where i bought it they said try unpluging it all cabels ect and leave for 2-3+ hours because it might be static i tryed that and seems it makes it last acouple of sec's longer but stills goes black.. they are going to send a enginer acount next week i shall tell you all how we get on...
My flat screen tv was shot by an air soft gun. It did not puncture a hole in the screen , however when I turn on the tv there is a circle in the picture behind where it was shot. Can the picture be repaired?
Turn tv on and it reads Mathis in nice blue color but when it comes on its black an white
Screen is black but does turn on
when we turn on tv there is sound but no picture. It is just a pink screen. we have unplugged and plugged back in but no change to the color.
