Unlocking the door: Turn on the washer, but don't start any wash cycles. After a few minutes, the door should unlock itself.
Troubleshooting the "nd" message: "nd" means "no drain". Empty the (now unlocked) washer and fill the wash tub with just enough water to see a bit of water at the bottom of the tub. Run a drain cycle and check a) if it drains and b) if there are any unusual noises while it is draining. If either event occurs during the drain cycle, the drain pump may have to be repaired/replaced.
The ND error code on a digital Neptune front load washer. The ND code means 'No Drain' and it is probably just something caught in the pump. Sometimes this is a early sign of the pump going out or a control board issue.
What is the Model number of your machine if its a FAV6800A or FAV9800A please read on.
The ND error code means No Drain. You could have a drain line clog or a stuck Pressure Switch contacts. See this post for past troubleshooting; http://www.fixya.com/support/t2209123-code_nd_fav6800aww_serial_number_10 There are links to the Service Manual and I go over how to put the machine in Service Mode to check that the Pressure Switch is signaling properly. Do you want to DIY the repair?
Let me know.........Rich
I'd love to say yes! The machine is stopping because it will not drain. This is what the nd code means. Therefore, it will not rinse (add more water) or spin because the water level is already too high and to try to "spin it out" would put too much pressure on the machine with that much water in it. Drain out the water by putting the drain hose below the level of the washer (this takes forever) and call your repair man back!
Is the Machine a FAV6800A or a FAV9800A? Do you want to DIY the fix? The nd error code = No Drain error code. You could have drain line clog, an issue with the drain pump or a stuck pressure switch.Do you hear the machines drain pump turn on and pump out water before entering lnto the spin cycle? Is there water left in the tub with the nd error code?If you can provide feedback on the questions above I will help guide through the troubleshooting steps. You will need the Service Manual to troubleshoot. The FAV6800AW/FAV9800AW Service Manual for reference. Sears Parts Direct for reference. Rich
i also have this problem. to get the door to unlock, just unplug the washer and it should open in a min or two. you will hear a click. you may have a mini flood but at least you can get your cloths out and bail out the water. my problem started when i began using a new detergent from Tide called total care. Still tying to get the pump to work.
we had the same problem with ours....nd means not draining and that means that there is something, probably coins stuck in your drain hose. pull the drain hose out and check it for change and make sure something isn't stuck.
nd= no drain. loud buzzing noise sounds like something stuck in pump assy.remove the door(2screws) adn other 2 screws oppisite side, and hte front panel comes off giving you acess to the drain pump, pull the hoses and look for the obstruction
