Monitor turns off after 2secs power light on

Monitor turns off after 2secs but power light is on
give me what i need to buy and the price if you can

  • Anonymous May 11, 2010

Have you done any simple checks, like plug the monitor into another computer, or another monitor into your computer? It sounds like power distribution, but do that simple check. If it is the monitor and its out of warranty, it doesnt hurt to check.

Oct 23, 2009- This is how it went for me..I have a Samsung SYNCMASTERmonitor turns off after 2secs power light on - 2.gif 2053BW. I leave my monitor on and let it hybernate when I shut down PC. I'm 3 months outside of my warranty. Two weeks ago something started happening. I boot PC and video doesn't come up for 10 minutes, and when it came up it worked perfect. VC/Monitor/MB?? It became 20 minutes and ...now..I have the analog/digital box in top left screen, power light on monitor flashing, no menu available on monitor and none of the other buttons work for anything. I test the monitor on Laptop..nothing(same as above)..I break out the old(working) monitor from deep within the closet. Plug it in and I'm up and running. So...

HOW TO OPEN A SYNCMASTER 2053BW

NO SCREWS!!! Assuming that the stand mount has been pulled out..The seam around the screen frame is where you start. The frame has the prongs, the back cover has what the prongs slip over. The frame is coming off first! I got the side to open by finger, then used a small standard screwdriver to pry ever so gently(lifting frame from rearcover). Leave the power button assembly on the frame, pull wire only a little to relax any tension..you get about 3/4" in extra taped to panel. The hard part is done.;) Still holding the frame...Now lift the panel (where the power button assembly wiring goes under panel) with the power housing that is under it as a whole and you will see where the powerbuttonassemble detaches.Remove frame. Now..holding edges of panel into back cover, lift and flip the whole thing over and place panel face down on a perfectly flat surface..a towel on my desk works. Lift and remove back cover.Your now looking at the back of the board housing. The ribon is simple, on the panel end of the ribon, squeez the outer clips together and slide it away against the panel..The secondary tin plate is removable, two clips super close to where the sets of wires come around the housing and into the panel.Unhook the 4 plugs(pink inside/blue outside)...Now lift the power housing off of the panel. The big board has the power. One screw to remove a ground plate first. Two screws to remove power board. Pics from phone

Reassemble but DO NOT re-snap the frame into place....yet... Test it! There is a reason the caps got hot in the first place, therfore it has a good chance of happening again. This is not fullproof...but.....mine has been on now for close to 6 hours with no glitches whatsoever. So I have resnapped mine back together. I hope you can too. - I must also add that this is one of the best producing monitors I have ever seen...in 60hz. The clarity is top notch. If you purchase one get the extended warranty. FYI...I paid $4.00 for those caps. It sounds like this is very common with SyncMasters.

Asus 19inch LCD monitor keeps auto adjusting and turn off after 2secs. . i do reset it . . nothing happens. .it keeps auto adjusting itself repeatedly . . pls help me

The Auto knob maybe mechanically stuck or the internal switch may be defective. Try pressing the Auto switch firmly 10-15 times,If monitor works now the switch is defective and needs replacement. Do rate the solution.

It won't turn on -

hi there, it sounds like your monitor isn't receiving power, check the power cable in your monitor is connected and not partially unplugged. Second, if that doesn't work, try looking at your plug and make sure that is plugged in. If that doesn't work, you may have to buy a new monitor or give it to a friend that can repair it.

Turned the monitor off and next time i turned the computer on it didnt

Monitors are farely easy to find a solution... either it's your outlet (so try a new one) or the monitor is blown somewhere. You could try to fix it (although they are a huge pain to full with), take it to get fixed (you could always check on prices but usually expensive), or just go buy a new one. Sadly monitors don't have a magic reset button. Just to make sure...there are no power indication lights coming on is there?

NO LIGHT ON POWER BUTTON ON HP PAVILLION f1703 DISPLAY MONITOR

knpeterso548, I wouldn't even worry about that little power "ON" indicator light. As long as the button functions as an "on" or "off" switch, you will only need to remember to turn sleep mode setting to total "off" mode (disable) in the pc. This way you will need to turn off the monitor with the BUTTON when you will be away from the pc for more than 1-2 hours. Face IT!!! Even I would charge you $15 just to open it up! $10 for a new "on/off" switch/with led and then $10 to put it all back together again. Give a call to HP (High Price) and find out what they will charge for replacing a switch. As long as the LCD panel displays brite, crisp images and text, you are way better off than those who don't see a thing on their LCD screen when they press the power "ON" button.
Bye for now. 12fix louie

The screen stays black. The power light on the "on" button blinks on and off and flickers.

Try to unplug the monitor and totally shut down your PC. Wait 10 seconds and plug your monitor back in. Make sure the power is off on your monitor. Turn your PC on then turn your monitor on.

If you still don't get a picture and the light keeps flashing the monitor will need to go in for service. If it's no longer in warranty its best to just purchase a new monitor (will cost almost as much as a new one to fix)

LCD screen goes black repeatedly

Have you checked the light on your power supply? My monitor will go black and I noticed the light on my AC power supply was off. It was very hot so I unplugged it and let it cool down. When I plugged it back in my monitor worked fine until the power supply started to over heat again.
