Have a 36 inch Sony Trinitron Standby light blinks 5 times pauses and does it again non stop while Tv is on. Got this TV free just wondering what it means Thank you

In standby mode (red led on/after the led stops from blinking), press "Display", "5", Volume (-)", "Power on" on the remote control in sequence, self diagnostic screen will be display, let me know the what is on the screen to diagnose where the fault came from.
Something is Wrong with the Video.Check Video out,Q705,732,761 and other components on the C board,c also check Q218,219,220 on the A board.In addition,unit could be in IK blanking,try turning up Screen Slightly

The key here is the count of the blinks. I'm assuming that the model number is KV-36FS120. Please post the blink count. It should be a count-pause-count...

I think, TV screen has white-balance failure thats why TV light blinks 5 times.
While living in Pakistan, I can't fix your TV there. In my point of view, it doesn't cost much and you should contact nearest Sony repair shop.
