Charge your Philips GoGear ViBE for at least three hours before turning it on.
2
Insert the small end of your
mini USB cable into your GoGear ViBE. Insert the other end of this cable
into one of your computer's USB ports. Turn your GoGear ViBE on by
pressing and holding the "Power" button for two seconds.
3
Insert the Philips GoGear ViBE software disc into your computer's CD-ROM drive. Follow the onscreen prompts to install it.
4
Open "Computer" from the "Start"
menu and locate the GoViBE icon to make sure it has been successfully
connected to your computer.
5
Navigate to your music files. If
you're unsure about their location, start by looking in the "Music"
folder under the "Start" menu.
6
Drag and drop your music files from their folder onto the GoViBE icon in your "Computer" window.
7
Right-click the USB icon with
the green arrow, located in your taskbar, to disconnect your device.
Click "Safely Remove hardware," then wait until your computer confirms
that it's safe to remove the device. Disconnect the USB cable from both
your computer and your GoGear ViBE.
8
Select the musical note icon
from the main menu of your GoGear ViBE to open your music files.
Navigate to the sub-folders section, and select a song from either the
artist, album, track list or genre. Press the "Play/Pause" button to
begin playing a song
The MP3 player can only play music files that are in mp3 file format. Music on CDs need to be converted to mp3 format for your GoGear. Please click on this link and follow my instructions to convert and copy music files to your player :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r5798418-creating_transferring_mp3_music_files
Here's what you want to do. Use Windows Media Player to re-Rip the CD's in Mp3 format. Go to Windows Media Player 11 --> Rip --> Rip Options --> Format --> Mp3 (you can get to Rip options by moving the mouse over the Rip tab, and a small black arrow will appear - click on the arrow). Once the songs are in true mp3 format, you can then use the Sync tab in Windows Media Player to transfer the songs. Unfortunately, many of the newer Philips players do not recognize DRM-encryption, which is why the songs would have worked in one player and not this one.
Or:
You have to get Rhapsody's Mp3 only service - I repeat, MP3 ONLY. No other level of Rhapsody service will work with the newer Philips' GoGear's - which is funny, b/c Philips co-branded with Rhapsody on the newer players. Rhapsody is not your only choice, but you must ensure that the files you are downloading are in Mp3 format. -Tha Mp3 Doctor
Make sure that there is available memory. If there is, then you will need to do a firmware upgrade and reload the songs onto the player. If you already have the latest firmware, then you will need to reformat the player either in Windows Media Player or the computer. If that fails, use the repair function in the Philips Device Manager.
If you have recently upgraded to Windows Media Player 11, either manually or via Windows Update, this could be the problem.
In this case, uninstall Windows Media Player 11 from Add or Remove Programs, in Control panel.
Also uninstall Windows Media 11 runtime.
This will roll back to Windows Media Player 10.
If you are already using Media Player 10, this problem could also be caused by corrupt firmware on the player.
make sure you have Philips Device Manager installed, from the product CD.
Run Philips Device Manager, and select the restore or repair option, then follow the on-screen prompts.
This will format the player and re-flash the corrupt firmware. All tracks on the player will be deleted.
