Have a Avanti 798SS Washer. Does not wash nor does it spin. I heard something with the motor as if it attempting to perform said task (wash) but in the end it beeps and E2 flashes. What does this mean?

It would be useful to have the model number, but here are some manuals. Some machine have no option for JUST a spin, you have to choose Rinse and Spin.
check lid..either the lid switch is bad or the lid switch actuator which is made into top...when in final spin push down on the right hand top part of lid,,,if it starts replace part needed,,,good luck
resistor on control board is burnt out I think it is R14
The board on that one is located in the dryer front upper right corner you will also need io replace the wax motor in the washer door lock
hi!we have read your problem.please dont worry, every problem has a solution.it may be some sort of coin of even metal parts like nails kept inside pockets, when they are washed without being be checked.please make sure you find out the piece thats spinning around by having a thorough check inside.hope your problem is tackled.have a nice day!!!
One of the largest problems with this washer has been thelid switch, you must check it out with a ohm meter, if the switch quits you will lose power to the motor. Things can get caught between the tanks as well, this machine is bad for the center bearing tightening up and the spin will quit. This is a new close up pictureof a typical lid switch. You can temporarily join the wires together to test the motor and washer operations.
It sounds like you have a bad clutch in the washer. To diagnose this failure, you would need to pull off the washer cabinet and pull the transmission. It is likely that you would find the clutch band glazed over. It is probably not exerting enough torque to release the brake and spin the washer.
If you find this problem, you can try sanding the band to rough it up. Reassemble the washer and check for proper spin. If this fixes the problem, you will need to order and replace the clutch band.
This type of procedure is usually performed by a service technician. I don't recommend attempting this repair unless you are completely confident that you can safely perform the work.
Had the same problem. The water pump is not working and since it cant drain water it wont spin. A easy fix. There's a magnet located on the water pump thats comes lose. Simply tie it back into place.
some of the early washers had problems with a weak or faulty motor . take front panel loose and look at motor board it may look burnt on some of the resistors or look at the clear fuse at front of board it may be burnt if so use a motor/board conversion kit p#12002039.
