How do I fit a Flame Failure Device into a Mistral EL

How do I fit a Flame Failure Device into a Mistral EL Leisure LPG oven. The cooker is about 18 years old and works perfectly. However the FFD has gone, I have a new one, correct for the model but wondered if anyone could tell me, step by step, how to put in the new one.

You should not attempt to repair this unless you are gas registered. It is against the law!

Instructions for lighting grill for Leisure Cooker GR6GV MKII

Have your flame next to the pilot light before turning on. Hold pilot knob in while lighting. Hold it in for about 30 seconds once it is lit. Then you can turn it to the on position and set the temp.

Canon Carrick LPG cooker-failure of full flame control bottom oven I have had this cooker for 14 months and used it for 6 months only from new. The bottom main oven has just started to play...

I had the same problem. I solved it by re-attaching a device which had come undone. On the right hand side of the burner is a rod with a metal wire attached. This was lying loose. It should be fixed to a little grey clip which is itself attached to a a piece of metal. By re-fixing the clip and the rod to the clip it solved the problem. Hope this helps. I have photos of how it should look. email [email protected] for a JPG.

Just bought a Leisure Gourmet Classic gas cooker. Connected the gas and plugged it in but none of the burners will light. The ignition is working but no gas is getting through. Any ideas folks? TIA, Andy

I had a similar problem when my new Leisure cooker was installed last December. The burners would light when I held the knobs in but when I let go the flame would go out. The engineer took off each of the burner knobs and stuck a small wad of aluminium foil between the inside of the knob and the contact on the front of the cooker - he said it's a design fault and the gap is just a bit too large for contact to be made reliably. This fixed the problem and I've had no trouble since.

Creda cf50g cooker oven not getting hot

sounds like the ffd is at fault, this is a safety device that alows the main flow of gas through. when the cooker is cleaned the sensor can be moved by accident from its position over the flame, another reason could be a build up of grease etc, stopping the flame reaching the sensor. if none of these then the ffd unit needs to be replaced. they are about £20.00 for the part

I can't get a low flame on my lpg hob. The flame isn't outrageously huge so I think the hob is converted for lpg. But I can never get anything on a simmer, even with simmer mats over the flames. ...

If you remove control knobs you should find a hole where screwdriver can be inserted to adjust the flame failing this ensure correct injectors were installed when converted to lpg

Leisure rangemaster 55 gas cooker

It sounds exactly the same as I am experiencing on my oven of the same model. My theory is that the full flame gas is controlled by a thermostat, and that this has broken hence why the oven only stays on preheat. This will be a matter of a replacement part. Most likely the thermostat is a bi-metal strip that, because it has heated and cooled so many times in it's life it has simply finally given up. Try searching online for the correct part and get a corgi registered fitter or another suitably qualified fitter to come and replace it.
