SOURCE: beeping constantly in middle of night

My fridge (E440T but I believe the E522B is similar) also had a broken fan wire. I pulled off the panel and re-soldered the wire. I also created a document for others to follow if interested at http://www.accentis.com.au/downloads/misc/How I fixed my Fisher and Paykel Fridge Active Smart Fridge.pdf
Thanks to all postings on this site - it really helped a lot.

My fridge seems to be continually running and keeps everything cold. It is in a hot garage during the day but it still runs continually during the night. It is twenty years old.

Find the condenser coil. It is either on the back or underneath. Be sure it is clean of dust and dirt. You may have to blow out areas you cannot reach Use a vacuum as you blow out to catch dirt Reduced capacity due to dirt is a cause of running too long. Also check the door seal. Place a $1 bill at the door seal and close the door. You should not be able side the bill out with the door closed. If you can you need a new seal.

The refrigerator runs almost continually for no apparent reason. It started a few days ago. We have changed nothing.

There are four likely reasons:-
If it is not a frost free refridgerator, the thermostat is iced up and not sensing temperature - defrost the fridge.
The thermostat is faulty and in this case the contents of the fridge should be freezing up - replace the thermostat.
The gas is low in the system and the fridge should then be warmer than normal and the thermostat is trying to compensate by having the compressor running constantly - re-gas the fridge.
The door seal is leaking or the door is not closing fully, allowing cold air to escape - check the seal and the door and correct or replace the seal.

Hello,

Sounds like you have a bad door switch. Depending on the age of the fridge, it might still be under warranty. If it's not, then you might be able to access the door switch yourself and pull it out & replace it.

Good luck......

Craftsman garage door 1/2 hp opens. Keeps open for no apparent reason. In the middle of the night and sometimes during the day, How can I fix

Most commonly this is caused by a bad wall control or the wiring going to it. The wall control goes bad from constant use and the problem with the wiring is caused by the staples most installers use. The staples cut through the insulation and cause intermittent shorts. I would remove the wall control and check it for a few days and if it happens again you can remove the wire going to terminal #1 on your motor unit. That will eliminate the wiring. Be sure to remember where the wires go on the back of the wall control as they are color coded. One is solid white and the other is white with a red stripe.
